  • I used to live there when I was a kid. I remember that church too. Times change.

  • I live in pk i remaber this

  • Can anyone give me some information on the S Hamilton neighborhood this church is in? Nice/Bad? Streets/Neighborhoods one should avoid in Poughkeepsie? Any information is welcome. Thanks in advance.

  • @im1greatman I live in pleasant valley which is like 15 minutes from poughkeepsie but I go through there alot and I'm pretty sure Hamilton is a bad neighborhood to be in. There a local jail there that people call the Hamilton Hotel cus so many people go in and out of the jails.

  • @reL3ntless4LiFe Thank you for that bit of information. I would be moving to S. Hamilton St literally 1-2 blocks south of the River Church. I've been told to stay south of 44-55 (Church St). Is the southside of Poughkeepsie the place to be?

  • @im1greatman Yeah, the southside of Poughkeepsie is the place to be usually. Its the better side of Poughkeepsie. Main Street which is kind of in the middle of Poughkeepsie is cleaning up a little bit aswell.

  • i remember this

  • i live in n.y. it was crazzii

  • One church down, millions to go. :-D

  • @TheDarkLordLucifer You'd like Demon 666's song "Burn the Churches"

  • i passed by it a few days ago and they had a pile of bricks for sale

  • i cant believe i was there

  • yeah i remember this, i lived in fishkill for 16 years,, moved out to poughkeepsie though on duane st. down by noahs, i seen the aftermath, crazy shit

  • I'm born and raised in Fishkill, NY - but I've been down in Florida for a few months for school.. can someone tell me, was this the church across the street from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center/Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel? I played ice hockey at the McCann Arena (Civic Center) for many many years and I'm curious if this was the church I always walked by right across the street (next to the parking garage).

    Glad nobody was hurt.

  • nah it wasnt over by the civic center

  • it was over by south hamilton st

  • ah, ok gotcha.

    thanks 23sweetyny

  • no problem sweetie

  • @X6insane6X no, its the one by the intesection of hamilton and montgomery street

  • i went to that chirch with my friend and one guy devoted his life becaus his whole family died in a car crash and he was ill so he went there for i belive 45 years

  • This is why it's hard to believe reporting seen on TV! Facts, folks...facts!! Get them...get them!!!

  • Just to clarify: There were no sprinklers in the church, there was no local regulation saying sprinklers needed to be installed because of the age of the building.
