  • RIP Ken.

  • @HughieDixon who's ken?

  • @beccahday Ken Russel film director

  • @BILLYKARLOFF aah, i was wondering who that guy speaking in the middle was. thank you.

  • its like looking into space. you have a starr and a moon.

  • @mikuz007 i like that x)

  • ...Could rise this country out of its decadent, ambient state... I LOLED SO HARD

  • That's the trouble with piss heads, they think what they're saying is hilaraious, when all the time they are talking bollocks.

  • Booze and Drugs have ruined so many lives, just look at all the famous ones that are gone because of one or the other or both. Sad.

  • ***POOR TASTE ALERT***

Q: What do The Who have in common with Space:1999?

A: Moon blasted out of orbit!

  • keith moon was a cocky little c--t

  • ...wow there both just shitfaced

  • Fortunately Ringo is still with us, sadly Keith is no longer and we've missed him for a long time now.

  • Love both of them!

  • Ringo would've been terrible in The Who, and Keith would've been terrible in The Beatles. They're both outstanding drummers in their own right, and comparing them is stupid.

  • @connorG56 ........ Think the weirdo is Ken Russel a film director who directed the film Tommy . One did hear that he kept farting followed through and shit his pants four times during this interview because of his excitement about the Who .

  • legends !!!

  • Comment removed

  • and thats why Keith and Ringo are my favorite.

  • @bassharmonica1 mine too.

  • 0:29 - 0:50 whos the wierdo?

  • Moons and Starrs and milk make a bowl full of fun!

  • What do you think about your public image?

well i think it kind of varies (getting whipped by chick in leather)

  • they are both great drummers- but 2 very DIFFERENT styles! Keith wouldn't have fit in with The Beatle's neeeds just like Ringo wouldn't have worked for The Who necessarily.

  • @4FabBEATLES i totally agree

  • in what years Keith had a beard>!!?>>> :))) i am amateur in the Who!>

  • @thegrinchl7 Please shut up. Really, George has nothing to do with this video, so take whatever problems you have somewhere else. In my humble opinion, George wrote beautiful, poetic music. But that's only my opinion.

  • why haven't they made a movie about this guy!

  • Keith looks really weird with a beard

  • @lasfinisimas Keith making fun of 'public relations people'

  • WTF...whats with the BDSM begininng?

  • This was the greatest clip from the kids are alright. I wish I was with Ringo and Keith drinking with them.

  • Awesome. wish I was there.

  • Ringo : "We're getting on now, we need our medicane."

Keith: -Mumbling something- "Ya see the age of his suit."

    LOOL.

  • awesome drummers, hot chick in the beginning of the video....awesome!

  • with a little trimming and dying they could totally have epic matching beards

  • my two favorite drummers!!!

  • I can't say who is coller

  • lol they look like twins with their jebus beards

  • Listening to Keith Moon and you know where Dudley Moore got 'Arthur' from !

  • @colfair i think you hit the nail on the head there.......i wish they both were still alive....

  • I believe Keith was a closet gay, a man ambivalent about his sexual identity. He should have married Freddie Mercury...

  • Those last words of Keith's are so amazing.

  • "Not drunk teeny boppers, we just took too much medicine." hahahahaha.

  • two best drummers EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • From what I have read Ringo, Keith, John Lennon, and Harry Neilson were all drinking buddies durring Lennon's lost weekend that lasted a year and a half. Durring the early to mid 70s

  • From what I have read Ringo, Keith, John Lennon, and Harry Neilson were all drinking buddies durring Lennon's lost weekend that lasted a year and a half.

  • I believe the old hipster is Ken Russell who directed the film version of TOMMY, and that "Wilson and those crappy people" does indeed refer to Howard Wilson and the other British politicians of the day.

  • Will you...keep it together?

  • the beatles... the who..... awsome!!!!

  • starr looks stoned out of his head and moon looks like hes taken to many purple hearts

  • who is the old 1974 hippster at 0:32

and who is wilson... and those crappy people?

  • @Heartbreakin I have no idea who the old hippster was, but I think he was refering to prime minister Harold Wilson.

  • keith was kind of a pervert wasn't he?

  • @champlainabc I think it was more that he had an odd sense of humor....

  • Has anyone ever seen a bearded Keith Moon and a young Martin Scorsese in the same room together?

  • ahhh my two favorite drummers in the world together!!!

  • Ringo's off his bumpers

  • Not actually drunk Teeny Boppers! Ha ha ha A drunk episode of Thomas the tank engine is what the kids of today really need!

  • I used to think Keith was a quit witted lunatic....but after watching interviews, Ringo seems to be even wittier than Keith was. No wonder John, Paul and George never had a fight with Ringo, the guy is just so charming, funny and down to earth.

  • probally cause were drunk so awsome

  • As to Keith Moon, if he didn't die, other than being a musician and drummer, I think it would have been good if he had pursued his acting career. He was funny because when it comes to acting, he does have a this natural behavior in him that made him funny. He will never be forgotten like all the other famous musicians that died young but left a legacy.

  • i would love to been whipped by keith moon how cool is that.................

  • Well, Kieth Moon was an energetic and dynamic drummer. Ringo Starr's drumming was more like Ker-plunk! Ker-plunk! Ker-plunk!

  • @thegrinchl7 Ringo was a more creative drummer than Keith Moon, musically but vastly underrated. I would not judge Ringo that easily if I haven't yet heard what he is fully capable of on his best drummed songs like "A Day in the Life". Keith Moon has awesome insanity and flash on stage, no one can recreate that but that does not make him the greatest drummer and he is actually overrated.

  • @Ishi680 - As if to prove just how important Ringo was to the Beatles, he was easily replaced during their American tour for 3 weeks while Ringo recovered from surgery. Not only did people NOT MIND, they barely noticed he was gone! THAT'S HOW IMPORTANT RINGO WAS!

  • @thegrinchl7 But he got back soon afterwards and got even better, didn't he??? Kids as young as 7-12, try to be Ringo here on Youtube. He has got high praise from fellow drummers. Even Keith Moon got him to drum on his solo album. He is inspiring young drummers today and even myself. The Beatles-the greatest band ever would have never been the same without him. What's more, he is is still alive and doing music, keeping the Beatles' legacy alive. THAT'S HOW INFLUENTIAL RINGO IS.

  • @Ishi680 - I like Ringo. He was a calming presence

in the band and served as a buffer to the two big

egos. Ringo knew his place. His was a supporting

role. George Harrison, on the other hand, always

confused himself as an EQUAL. In spite of all of his

"spiritual" posturing he was amazingly bitter and petty

about his lot-in-life. He thought that his music

deserved more attention. He stood so close to the

gods for so long, that one day, the fool began to

    confuse himself for one!

  • @thegrinchl7 Ringo's uniquely talented, he made the less mistakes on their studio recordings but he also had a sense of humor. I like George and I seem to like his musical arrangement and spirituality over John Lennon who would have anti-government, political and a lot of "give peace a chance" things on his songs. George instead arranged the charity Concert for Bangladesh for example where John failed to attend because George doesn't want Yoko to sing. I think his music is touching to the soul.

  • @Ishi680- Yes, I have a moderate amount of respect for George. Apparently, according to the Rolling Stones interview, John Lennon said that George walked up to Yoko and told her flat-face that he didn't much like her (ideas) and that her constant presence was "disturbing" to the band. You know, all over the world, every kind of media held tributes for John Lennon...his words and music. There were none such tributes for George Harrison on the anniversary of his death. None. Not even in Liverpool.

  • @thegrinchl7 John Lennon is the best composer of The Beatles and he is their leader and founder of course but I seem to like George and Paul's solo career music than John's sad, depressing musical arrangement. John died tragically so it may look like he is a hero, even Google payed tribute to his 70th birthday but George died peacefully. I listen to his songs like Here Comes the Sun, Give Me Love, My Sweet Lord, Got My Mind Set On You and I believe that his music deserved more credit.

  • @Ishi680 You can't really say that John was the "best" composer out of the four. They each had their own style of writing music. For instance, Paul wrote more of a "poppy" sound, whereas John's songs were more lyrical; I do agree that Paul & John did not give George enough "legroom" to have more of his songs on the records, George is an awesome songwriter and artist in his own right, just look at "Something", "My Sweet Lord", etc. As for Ringo, well, he's awesome in his own right. lol

  • @thegrinchl7 It might be because as @Ishi680 put it, George died peacefully around his friends and family, whereas John Lennon was shot and killed, so there is a little bit of a difference..still equally tragic though..

  • @snoogans1125 - Yes, there was a "difference". John Lennon was shot to pieces against his will. George Harrison SMOKED his life away. In a sense, George assassinated himself!

  • @thegrinchl7 Get your facts straight: the tour in which he had to be replaced was that of the Netherlands, Denmark, Hong Kong and Australia, in June 1964.

If you don't know what you are talking about, you have to shut up and bow down before the Almighty Ringo Starr, MBE.

  • @oliaiguambfigues76 - Frankly, I just don't pay much attention to Ringo. Never have. Like George, he was mostly replaceable.

  • @thegrinchl7 Have you ever listened to George's solo stuff. Because it's amazing.

  • @Scarperguy - George was a funny guy. I wanted to like him

...but, I did NOT appreciate his cramming religion down our

throats. More importantly, his voice did not lend itself well to

SOLO work. Although, I must admit he blended beautifully with

John and Paul's harmonies. His 3 or 4 really good songs

cannot make-up for the other awkward pieces he produced.

His melodies are often somewhat RINKY-DINK and his lyrics

were strangely self-conscious. They amounted to bad poetry,

    really.

  • @thegrinchl7 no....george had alot of good stuff.....you have to remember he "was not allowed" to record many songs while with The Beatles and producer George Martin admitted they ignored him and discouraged him from doing anything".....yeah....the religeous stuff was a bit much.....but he had some good stuff....tax man, here comes the sun, something, while my guitar gently weeps, piggies, if i needed someone. Remember....he made these songs with great reluctance from Lennon & McCartney

  • @inkey2 - During this era, George Martin and the others were more open about WHY George was marginalized. None of the goofy politeness that goes on now, which is customary among old men. Especially if death is involved. Courtesies are now being extended to George that nobody bothered with during his life. However, this shouldn't be confused for respect for his music. Much of George's work remains below Beatle standards. Geroge Martin once said that much of George's offerings were "painful".

  • @thegrinchl7 I personally found George's songs to be the best of the Beatles . After a while I get tired of 'silly love songs " . George 's songs were thought provoking and intelligent , and his guitar playing was always tasteful .

  • @RisingSon011 - "Thought provoking"? Hmmm....never felt that

with Harrison's music. His lyrics constitute bad poetry...awkward

phrasing. His melodies were sometimes cartoonish (Crackerbox

Palace). You know, GREAT music has the quality of having ALWAYS

BEEN. A timelessness. As if it fell from heaven. "A Day In The Life"

had it. "Yesterday" had it. Many other Beatle tunes had this quality.

Except for "Something" and "Gently Weeps", George's body of work

    remains clunky. Almost unlistenable.

  • @thegrinchl7 I do not agree . But I don't state my opinion as if it were an undeniable fact . It really doesn't make any difference to me what anyone else likes . I know what I like

  • @RisingSon011 - Two dollars and George Harrison's All Things Must Pass CD will get you a cup of coffee in most places around the world.

  • @thegrinchl7 Don't feel ashamed . Harrison's songs about metaphysics and religion are over alot of people's heads . Just stick with your silly love songs .

  • @RisingSon011 - I liked the way George frantically screamed "Hare Krishna" to the lunatic who invaded his home and came at him with a knife. From what I hear, the intruder stabbed him all the more! Then, the delightful way he spent his last few months with throat cancer..having SMOKED HIMSELF TO DEATH. Ahhh...it's good to have your "sweet lord" on your side!

  • @thegrinchl7 well why didn't you tell me in the first place that you were disturbed mentally ? I will never get back the time and effort I have wasted in corresponding with you . Damn your eyes.

  • @RisingSon011 - If the "Sweet Lord" takes care of you and me like he took care of George, we should be OK.

  • @thegrinchl7 theology does not interest me . Good melodies do

  • @thegrinchl7 I like The Beatles and I like The Who. I don´t care if George albums make for a bean, I still respect him and love his music and talent. I dont see any reason to compare Lennon, Paul, George. Ringo, Peter, Roger, Keith or John.

  • @carmaj156 well said.

  • @thegrinchl7 HAHAHA! You're kidding right? Without Ringo and (especially) George The Beatles would be missing quite a few great and classic songs you know.

  • @thegrinchl7 ringo was more blues influenced and liked to keep things balanced but keith wanted to make a show of it

  • @thegrinchl7 dude you dont know what ur talking about. ringo was fucking awesome. he played exactly what should of been played for every song in all the different styles the beatles played in. that's the best kind of drumming. keith moon was a good drummer, yes. but what a shitty band he played in. the who sux man. I've tried to like them, believe me. I just can't, they're just such a phony bologna rock band

  • @whipchops - Well, the WHO didn't translate all too well with records and CDs. Overproduced and kind of sterile. However, these guys were never meant for the studio. If you ever saw them live...you would never forget it. They invented the spectacle. The young Townshend, on stage, was always on fire. Keith Moon...always elevated high above the others (and physically HIGH) beat his drums like they were his ugly, red-headed step children! They were an EVENT.

  • @thegrinchl7 exactly, people don't understand they weren't known for their music, but their live performances.

  • @thegrinchl7 Phil Collins, drummer for Genesis -- "I think he's vastly underrated. The drum fills on A Day In The Life are very complex things. You could take a great drummer today and say, 'I want it like that.' They wouldn't know what to do." (interview for The Making of Sgt. Pepper, 1992)

I don't know, between your opinion and Phil Collins', I'll stick with Phil Collins'. I suppose he might understand a bit about drummers...

  • 2 great products from Good Ole England.

  • Not drunk teenyboppers! :D

  • I like their kind of "Medicine"!

  • to: xxTitanicRocksxx-----------you have to include John Bonham

  • what year is this???

  • Who's the fat silly old man pretending to be a hippie at 0.35? What a wanker.

  • @searcherboy That's Ken Russell, the director of Tommy, you idiot! How dare you!

  • @rajbeast well to be fair he didn't do such an amazing job on the directing part the film would be so much better with a better director

  • '... I can't do dat...you couldn't afford me...' HAHAHAAAA! Brilliant!!

  • Ringo and Moon sure were cool friends- no wonder Ringo's son Zak got Moon to teach him drums

  • Ringo shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Moon.

  • @smokintony Well as they were friends and appeared in these snippets together, it's quite obvious and quite fair that they are mentioned in the same breath. However I do think Moon steals the show.

  • @smokintony You fucking kidding me? Ringo may not have been as "insane" as Moon, but he created so many unique and phenomenal drum beats, probably more creative than Moon.

  • @DrR0cks0 Totally agree listen to Strawberry Fields and A Day In The Life listen to the drum fills by Ringo on them tracks absolute genius, You could give a good drummer the sticks now and tell him to try and recreate that sound and he wouldnt have a prayer!

  • @DrR0cks0 sure he did...

  • @DrR0cks0 You're wrong.

  • Wait, wot was Pete saying around 1:28ish? All I heard was "big mouthed fucking git", and now I'm a bit curious...

  • @crackfox79 yes he is. watch from 1:00 on

  • @crackfox79 - yeah he is? he's pissed as a fart wi keith

  • @crackfox79 Coming from someone with a name called crackfox, Jog on you muppet..

  • Moon look like Chuck Norris

  • Yes, Ringo did some of the drumming on Moon's solo album. Ringo laid down a beat and Keith overdubbed on top of the tracks so they were double drumming on the final product. I don't think Keith would have used Ringo if he wasn't any good.

  • Moon and Starr, the best drummers come from outerspace.

  • there drunk

  • Ken Russell is like a Benny Hill character, shame he ran off Big Brother cos he thought Jade Goody was going to eat him.

  • Long live Ken Russell! yeah

  • You could'nt afford me ..... Must remember that LOL

  • Who rodgered Dawltree? Uzzz

  • l wish i was whipping keith he is a bad boy.

  • "just a lot of medicine"

  • These guys were real rock and roll stars who played real rock and roll. Guys like these don't come along anymore, and for some reason neither does good rock.

  • RINGO STAR ISNT DEAd lmao

  • R.I.P. Ringo Starr

  • The girl in the beginning should take her shirt completely off!

  • 'not drunk teeny boppers' LMAO

  • The voice when he says "well, I can't do that" is amazing.

  • i love the moon and ringo piece has always stuck in my mind

  • "Well not drunk, teenyboppers, but Keith and Ringo had a lot of medicine"

    "Absolutely"

  • WTF Benny hill is doing here?

  • @PepperUTube It's Ken Russell, famous movie director. This clip/interview is from the Who film "The Kids Are Alright" (1979).

  • The guy in the denim looked like the love child of Captain Kangaroo and Benny Hill

  • Keith was Zak Starkey's godfather

  • ...you couldn't afford me.

  • what year was this

  • it's ringo STARR!!

  • ok thanks

  • haha the beginning is the shit

  • whats with the whips and crap at the beging?

  • @TheLexyboy i would have loved that with oliver reed and keith moon

  • @TheLexyboy lol it would be a riot

  • IS RINGO GETTING HIT???!!!!

  • No, is Keith...

  • Love Ringo Starr. :)

  • the bit at the end is fucking priceless

  • I met Keith Moon in Gibralter, nice if mad as a balloon

  • Mad as a balloon?

  • my uncle doing what he does best being a blooody joker

  • Two great drummers

  • Apparently much (if not most) of the drumming on Two Sides of the Moon was done by Ringo.

  • I got to see The Who in my youth-but I was too young when Keith was still alive, I just missed seeing Keith Moon in action-he died a year before I was finally allowed to go to concerts. Rock on Moonie-R.I.P. ♫♥

  • This is classic!!!! Thanks for posting-hilarious!! ♫

  • moon and ringo, 2 legends. They are among the best. We will never forger them. I like both.

  • @219fran Ringo is not dead yet ;-)

  • What did Pete Townshend say? It's a bit hard to decipher what he was saying because he was talking kinda fast. All I understood was keyboard and fucking

  • He says, "There's a guitar up here if any big mouthed little git wants to come and fucking take it off me!" You can see and hear it better if you have the Kids Are Alright DVD. Or The Who Live at Kilburn 1977. Whichever. Hell, buy 'em both!

  • I LOVE KEITH MOON! hes got that i dont care what anybody thinks attitude.

And i think ringo is very under rated, he was a great drummer but the beatles music didnt really showcase ringo it was more of the whole group. but all the same i love the who and the beatles!
