Is this mp4 compatible now? Also, can you drag video clips from the top line to the bottom and vise versa now? This should have been in Cyberlink 8 - it would have been a huge time saver (especially when you have something edited already).

So I am getting a new editing software for my new laptop and i dont know what to get. My choses are CyberLink PowerDirector 9and Pinnacle.

BUT I need a few things on the editing system.

I need to be able to change the pitch WITHOUT shortening the video(for MUSIC).

Also to play 2 videos at once. I know Pinnacle does this. I just want to know if PowerDirector does.

@XStainedColorsX So you mean like a video layered on top of another one (and you can make one clear so you can see them play at the same time as if they are one clip)? If that's what you mean, then yes. :)

@XStainedColorsX Power Director 9 has 100 video tracks, so you can play 100 videos at once. Pitch can be changed using "Pitch Shift" which is found in the included program Wave Editor.

I don't understand why I have to tell SVRT my video format. Can't it read the format from my video and default the values? My movies are in 1920x1080 and the Profile was defaulted to 720x480. Also, what if you are using a mix of 1920 and 720 videos?

@funkycowboy Profiles don't default to any preset resolution as they are selected by the user when you want to produce(render) your video to a video file. Within each file type that is available, you will find various profiles with different quality settings....it may default to a specific profile, but you still have to select a profile that meets your needs. PD9 has no way of knowing that you want to produce a video file with certain characteristics.

I think this is an excellent new editing software from Cyberlink, but you have a very poor tutor. The tutor has an American accent, but seems to be groping for the right words all the time! Replace him!

Truly very advanced features, thanks! Just watched this video (at Cyberlink Direct zone tutorial/pdr9/ folder) I was prepared to enjoy PowerDirector (got version 8 less then two weeks ago, after a year or so using Special Express edition having limited features and included in JVC Everio camcorder

Look forward to install Version 9 tomorrow and start enjoying and learning it as soon after tonight downloading
