@jiggykgcltcs Use a spherical stylus and as little weight as possible. Most DJ cartridges will work with as little as 2g of stylus pressure. I usually use only that much unless I'm doing heavy scratching that demands more. With straight-arm turntables (the X2 comes with a straight arm as well) I rarely have to go above 3g.
thanks for the review as i have found excellent deals on these and in all honesty, am anything but hesitant to have these as my working machines given the numark rep for feel,
question pending how ever,
can you still operate cds as like any other cdj? without having the platter rotate and just hitting the start stop button?
the only thing about these is that you cant turn them battle style(vertical) without blocking one of the cd ports. they would have to make a left and right model to make it possible but they are really broke so....
Hello PegasusRPG...have you ever had the impression that the master tempo had some problems? I have those Numark...when the key lock is on the sound (especially the bass) seems to be a little imperfect..
If playing vinyl, just move the needle. If playing CD, use the search buttons (just left of the middle of the pitch slider.) See part 1 where I demonstrate searching through an MP3 file.
Or you can choose a song with a similar tempo to the one that is currently playing and just adjust slightly the one that is currently playing so there's not noticeable change
AWESOME!!!

@mixstylee Yes, if you have it in TT mode, as I demonstrate in this video. But then you lose the scratching ability of course.

What's the connection from the platter to the cd player that allows you to scratch the cd?
rockhills 2 years ago
It's the center spindle which is keyed for the numark record cap.
PegasusRPG 2 years ago
But how then did you scratch without that Numark record like around the 3:38 mark?
Also is there anything playable on that Numark record itself?
rockhills 2 years ago
The center spindle spins with the platter normally if there's no record cap stopping it. I just moved the platter.
Yes, that blue record has scratch samples. See the HTFR demo video where they use one over a CD track.

Are you able to skip to a certian part of a song, with a traditional table you would move the needle...so what would you do with the X2?

so u use serato and can use ur laptop?

Sure. I'd recommend using a Scratch Live CD with these units so you don't have to worry about skipping vinyl.
