  • Not very good. I just had accident in my 2002 406 break, women hit me on a side pretty hard, side curtains didn't deploy, car is totalled.

  • @atemlos2585: The 406 never had side curtain airbags, just front side torso airbags which are deployed from the seats like in the video above. They were also not fitted as standard, are you sure your seats even had them?

  • @ZilogJones Yes, 100% sure, there was even sign written on the side of the seats. Now I own P 407 with 8 air bags, I hope they're deployable :)

  • Which is better?

    Peugeot 406: 2001, 2002, 2003 or

    Volvo S40: 98, 99, 2000, 2001

  • For me it is a subjective assessment,

    I have the 406 Break

  • Peugeot 406 ...what year is your car? and

How is?.... is good or bad?

because I think about buying one.

  • @rodrox01

    406 2.0 HDi 110 PS Estate version 2001 Mileage: 300000 km

    +fuel consumption

    +large boot space

    +equipment

+it is going without major repairs, so far (only turbine require regeneration - now it`s ok)

-front of the car is to heavy (due to diesel engine)

    -car is relatively low suspended

  • The S40 is noticably safer and probably more reliable.

  • @Jubbbbb: Safer maybe, more reliable? I doubt it. Also the S40 is a lot smaller, I wouldn't consider them in the same size class at all.

  • @Jubbbbb i have v40 - belive mi it's not more reliable - 406 - was way better in reliability - but true - s/v40 was a lot safer
