  • óóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóóó o tamanho da viólaa

  • does this guy have a blues cd I can get ? hes awesome, but id like to listen to him uninterrupted... let me know thanks

  • Hey John,

Just wanted to say thanks for posting, I teach songs on here, but I never learned scales or lead parts. Just a rhythm guy, I guess. I am learning now and have already studied a few of your videos, very helpful!

Thanks again, I do appreciate the help,

    Dave

  • Good to hear it Dave. I love to listen. Not everything is in just being a player.

  • thank you thank you very helpfull

  • thanx a lot!!!!

  • Huge thanks from Russia for very detailed lesson!

  • that humbucker sounds waaarm ;')

  • thank you!

    finally i got it !

we don't get many tutorials as easy as you make them.

    thanks again pal!

  • GRACIAS!!! SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO!

  • great vid by why so serious?

  • Does the Book (your Guitar Workout) has tab or equivalence for this VID?

  • Not this riff. 'Guitar Workout' has bits and pieces of many styles to help you understand what goes in to professional modern technique. Writing a blues book is now underway but it won't have this exact thing as part of it. Sorry.

  • John,

I like this... but i dont know if what basic to should master before doing like this VDO. Please help advise.

    Thank you.

  • Sounds like a serious question? If you want to improve go in the direction of the masters you enjoy. Pick out some players and study their style. Learn their tunes. Read articles about the way they got to where they're at.

Don't be blind and expect to arrive at the goal. Open up the picture. See how they did it then you try and practice like hell. No shortcuts.

  • @johnhguitar This is it! Im serious. Im serious John. I love this from your say tones. Im not sure.

I love this line... what is it called? its say 70 % is the music I love to listen, to play , to improvise.

    Im new to..

Thankss for your kind answers to most if not ALL of your fans...

  • Glad you like it. It's basic but a good study of blues rhythm chords with a little melody added. Any chord you play can have things added to it to get it more character. Try to reverse the line and or change the order. Do it till it sounds good or the way you'd like it to sound. Thanks a million!

  • Great.

makes me come back to watch..

  • thank you

  • Clear channel, tones straight up with too much reverb......

  • Roland Cube 30 believe it or not1

  • good stuff

  • Cool man, thanks for doing these videos. I've learned alot. be cool...MM

  • perfect muy bien perfecto gusty muito buene

  • he is gay

  • Holy shit, he looks like john malkovich

  • John. I've built a pretty good rhythm and want to learn lead. Where should I start?

  • Listen to the masters and learn the riffs and the scales the riffs come from. Find a good teacher and go watch live music. How good do you want to be?

  • @johnhguitar Excellent response, I must admit. Even Pebber Brown says to study your favorite guitarist's solos.

    This man knows his stuff.

  • @johnhguitar > I want to be great. I want to start out right. Thank you for all you're doing.

  • @1INACTION bb king, stevie ray vaughan, eric clapton.

  • is that a switchmaster???

  • No. Gibson ES 175... The Switchmaster has 3 pickups.

  • @johnhguitar Omg I wish I could afford one. You are lucky man. But I have the same Es 335 that is on the left hand

  • Kill me with those fucking guitars , they are awsome!! you look so gay in the beggning man.

  • Nice lesson. Thanks

  • Wow! That old Gibson sounds great!

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • Awesome tone dude

  • it seams like every tone is a # higher

  • hi john..great video ..

  • good video. 5. God bless.

  • John ,like the slow pace, we really learn more from this pace,Thank you, keep up the great lessons!

  • looks like flea playing the guitar xD

  • Thank you for the awesome video! I will play this tune for some friends !

  • I didn't realise John Malkovich played/taught guitar.

  • @chris69666 Haha yeah its funny. Looks like him but also sounds a lot like him too

  • as always nice videos

  • Hey John. Terrific, as always. You mentioned a book with a focus on embellishments, fill-ins, etc. (at least that was my understanding). Does your Guitar Workout book cover all this? Thanks

  • I wouldn't say it pinpoints that area. It's more of a development study that designed to improve your picking technique and teach you basic and advanced theories. I try to parallel the piano in understanding music and most guitarists lack that. I'm not one to normally generalize but I teach a lot of students and very rarely do they come in with much harmony under their belt. Thanks for your interest....John

  • Thanks, but you´re a little bit too ``unlearning´´ for a standard guiterplayer that isn´t used to play bluse.

  • I'm not quite sure what you mean? Could you rephrase your comment. Thanks, John

  • @johnhguitar I have just started playing blues and I have a little problem understand all you´re playing.

  • Go take some lessons from a teacher in person.

  • @johnhguitar I think he means that you can't teach right to those who don't play blues.

  • As a proud guitar hack, I'm thrilled at how easy I picked up this lesson. Your teaching skills and talent are exceptional. Thank you much !

  • A lot of people judge this as a performance but it's nothing of the kind. It's purpose is to help people understand how to put blues chords together in a song or structure. Thanks for the comment.

  • this guy knows his shit, thanks man this was a very good presentation and setup with the tabs shown

  • OMG that tone is amazing

  • interesting... i thought the complete opposite. that tone goes right through me!

  • i second that... on the other hand if he'd have played in a band with some bass and percussion this might be the right tone to stick out for soloing... but i think this is a little bit too bright...

  • John Malkovitch on Guitar =P

  • @Weltar

Yes he does look like JM:-)

  • I learned a lot more with this than other instructers here. Your bad ass dude.

  • One of the best lessons thus far. Well done...thank you...keep it up.

  • Nice axe, bro. I looked at em... loved it in every way, except it sucked to stand and play so I bought the 137, instead cuz it's thinner. Nice post for the beginners.

  • niceness

  • nice good work, if have time come to see my blues solo greetin

  • caspita interessante!!

  • He looks and sounds like John Malcovich!!

  • nice call dude .. i was thinkin about somebody but couldnt place it ... i agree .. idk bout sound like him but he deff looks like him

  • and the blues he's playing just reminds me of his acts in the film of mice and men.

  • omg these gibson are freakin nice

  • GOOD !!

  • Another great lesson. I'm very greatful for your videos. I don't know if you remember me. I was looking for a guitar. Finally I bought a Parker P-44. It sounds great. But I would really appreciate your comments or advice. Thanking you as allways, Ricardo, Buenos Aires, Argentine.

  • Oh yeah I remember....You play whatever guitar that makes you happy....Not happy shop around.....Try them out first before buying.....Don't buy online unless you can return it..... Ricardo!! ?Como esta?

  • Thanks for your reply. I bought a Parker P-44. Not online. I tested before. It sounds great. I would preferred a Gibson but it is too expensive for me. I appreciate your lessons. Thanks again.

  • Great advice

  • ure top quality m8, ure lessons are really great but my sake please paint that grey wall sky blue or sumthin nice pls!

  • Can you do a review on the yamaha Pacifica

  • No, but I recorded a song called "Pacifica"

  • You do a great job ...thanks

  • what is a turn around?

  • It's a little melody or phrase at the end of a blues or any tune that's usually played the same way to let everyone know you're on your way back to the top or begining again. JH

  • Man that was such a great lesson with tab. Encore Encore

  • I like this a lot. thanks

  • watch awesome tibetan guitarist (from switzerland?!), he will blow you away! just look for "purtag" (his name)

  • the way you play and sound reminds me of Ralph Maccio from the movie Crossroads

    (best movie ever)

  • The guitar parts were played by Ry Cooder. (Did that duel at the end make any sense?)

  • lol not at all!

to me the movie couldnt stay on track, it jumped around alot, and the ending came out of nowhere..but its still the best movie ever

    good work. You're the best!

Yours for the Love of the guitar,

    RAMBINI

  • real nice dude

  • cool gibson guitar

  • he looks gay but he's great

  • Indeed, but great playing.

  • I'm not gay! My wife picks out my clothes. She's from Australia. You can blame her. I use to wear basic Calif. surf stuff and NEVER try to look dressy-nice. I was more successful as a beach bum guitarist rather that a sharp looking blues guy........Sorry, John

  • good ,

  • I wish you'd turn the reverb and treble up. I can still sort of make out all the notes.

  • nice.

  • Phenominal lesson keep it up!
