  • Understand that Tension and Compression are two aspects that relate to 'your' bodies ability to move your joints to one degree and no other person is the same. This being said, bone structure and at what point in a bend do they 'stop' cannot be bent anymore physically or they will snap this Compression. Tension is the stiffness you hold in your connective tissues/joints this is the area that if treated with care will improve our range of motion.

  • He talks about how some people are able to do a full stretch and others never will because of their bone structure. How does someone know if they can't do a pose because of their bone structure?

  • Nice explanations! Very clear and useful.

  • how long you hold each pose?

  • You hold a pose for about 5min this type of yoga is to help with the connective tissues

  • @rafiluccio 4 minutes. To exhaust the muscles so one can grab and stretch the connective tissue(which is the point of Yin Yoga).

  • I like this pose, at Kripalu we called it the pigeon.... great stretch for the hip, making micro movements....

  • good teacher,good teaching

  • *heels ;)

  • i love the emphasis on our body's individual uniquenesses. he's very informed.

i think sometimes it's easy to forget that there is no one way to fall into a stretch or pose. everyone is different.

even with something as basic as downward dog.. there are people who will do that pose for the rest of their lives and their heals may never touch the floor.

  • yeah, very good teaching

  • true teaching!
