  • that lightning helix made him five-figure money. that's like winning $16k on a lottery ticket. how would you react?

  • @antiernie13 standard is 2 blocks (currently Zendikar and Scars of Mirrodin), and has been for some time.

  • Legacy all the way! Either that or let the standard go back two sets rather that the one

  • nice shit. :D

  • Even if Oli had swung with the team, he could've saved char, lightning helix'd then char'd. Either way he would have won

  • Oh my god double rainbow all the way

  • calm down randy

  • holy crap craig looks like dwight from the office O_o

  • OMFG THAT WAS SO INCREDIBLE WOWOWOWOWOW OMG OGM OGMGOM

  • OH MY GOD IT'S LIGHTENING HELIX! xD

    Gotta love Randy.

  • This is like girls gone while.... but with nerds.....

  • what mike was saying was wrong.

if all the creatures attacked. he would be at 2 life. not beiong able to cast char (as it would kill him), but since his next card was lightning helix, he gains 3 life putting him at 5 then cast char.

  • lol personally i like nassif's topdeck better...

  • I....HAVE......ABSOLUTLEY NO IDEA WAT IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!

You can tell just by looking whos the english and whos the french person.

  • @Jammy192 Basically Craig Jones used Char to deal 4 damage to Olivier after he attacked with his creatures. This dealt 2 damage to himself as well, and then with creature damage he went down to 1 health. Craig had to topdeck a burn spell for 3 damage or more in order to win, and he got Lightning Helix. Lightning Helix does 3 damage to any creature or player and then heals you for 3 life. It' arguably the best instant cast card ever made in Magic history.

  • @OhManIAmSoHighNow ancestral recall. just a little bit better instant than helix

  • TOPDECK THE FUCKING BURN FTW

    fuck control combo or aggro

if you dont come prepared for burn, your ass it TOAST BEEYATCH!

  • @clustro Not unless I counter everything. Blue is the best.

  • eot boil plz

  • @clustro well well, somebody doesn't like blue...

  • oddly enough the only deck i have built atm is legacy muc :/

  • I play vintage. Legacy is a nerfed down version of vintage.

  • im so confused, how did he win :|

  • He was at 6, his opponent at 7. Opponent attacks for 3 damage, bringing him to 3 life. He plays char (instant, 4 damage to any target, 2 damage to self), bringing opponent to 3 and himself down to 1 at the end of opponent's turn. He reveals the top card of his deck, which is lightning helix (instant, 3 damage to any target, gain 3 life), which he casts to finish off his opponent. It was complete luck.

  • he drew a burn spell

  • idk if u play. so their life is 7/6 from their craig goes down to 3 life but plays to spells, 1 deals 3 damage to oliver the next he draws a card and deals 4 dame to oliver. 7 damage 7 life :)

  • you can get alot of money at the tourneys.

  • What makes magic nerdy is the sheer depth of understanding and analysis involved. I've just started playing magic online and the number of new cards and new effects I've encountered in two or three days is simply astounding. God knows what was happening in this video, I certainly don't. It made me laugh though.

  • lolololololololololololol

  • Nerd:A Guy Who Plays Magic

Idiot:The Guy Who Gets Laid A lot

    Awesome:The Guy Who Does Both...

    Black Rules....

  • I wanted Oliver to win soooooo much, he's one of my favorite pros, he totally deserved it too.

  • i thought magic was nerdy too not too long ago.

but i played it and i find it awesome.

  • According to stereotypes, Magic is EXTREMELY nerdy.

But I gave you a thumbs up cuz i agree it is awesome haha.

Then again, keeping stats on your favorite sports team or players is nerdy too if you think about it. Hence the word "stats" which is short for statistics, which is a form of mathematics. So if you like to compare to players/teams, you are doing math technically. Which is more nerdy than a card game IMO. But I don't watch sports anyways so it doesn't really matter to me :P

    Haha

  • Stereotypes of whom? A classic college athlet or bully? Who cares? :) Just flesh parts draining precious oxygen off mother earth.

Ditto on sports brother. Sports are for up to 15. From then on, either you are a professional athlet or a 15-year-old-minded adult.

  • what did he draw?

  • lightning helix

  • dawn...

  • im getting back into magic now.

This weekend, hopefully, i will buy a couple theme decks and a booster pakc and get back into magic.

    :D

    Sorry for spam.

    MTG FTW

  • These "nerds" can make up to 200k in one tourney.

More then you will probobly make in a year.

  • @ExpressBrett 1 word: POKER

    u make more money

  • @ExpressBrett ye but for a hobbie fine...but once uve played it so much ur at this level then its just sad

  • @ExpressBrett life time for most of these losers

  • @ExpressBrett yeah lol that's what I love. People can talk shit all they want to these guys. They're laughing all the way to the bank. Same goes to Yugioh. Although those guys make less money, the money they make is still nothing to scoff about. Besides, they're both fun games to play, at the end of the day, you play it for fun. Or that's how I see it.

  • @ExpressBrett NO THEY CANT, you deluded moron, lets take a look at the event in question, these 'nerds' in question, Craig Jones & Olivier Ruel and the tourny in question PT Honolulu 2006.

Rael, the frechman came 4th making a tidy 14K, his opponent Craig Jones made 22k coming second to Mark Herberholz who won the comp landing him 40K.

Now these figures are nowhere near your falsified claim, although total prize money for such tourneys are around the 230K mark, & subject to tax and change.

  • "The crows has gone ballistic!"

  • Lmao that's the funniest part.

  • omfg you nubs magic isn't for nerd's it is a well astablished card game that actually takes skill to play. not like fucking gay yu ge oh or whatever.

  • Admit it, with that kind of talk...iu sound nerdy =_=

  • @HTDtrilogy its yu gay oh

  • @Mouseman97 =D

  • @HTDtrilogy I'm with you on that. I mean if games where you had to think were nerdy, then we can call just about anyone a nerd. Football players who set up plays, our military generals who protect us by using tactical strikes and setting up blockades, and even our future leaders I guess are all nerdy.

Dumb people really need to get a life, instead of wasting their time beating down others who have found their calling or just something that they enjoy.

  • @HTDtrilogy You can't put up one card game and put down another. That's the nerdiest thing you could do tbh.

  • Anyone who thinks magic is for nerds. 2 words, Melissa DeTora.

  • wow...you think shes HOT!!!! ppssshhh...you need to get out more!

  • @Phil2171 that's just a female nerd...i like the game too. just embrace the nerdiness. who u fooling?

  • Oh, I fucking love it.

  • What is he saying the cround is ballistic HE was balistic

  • lol Buehler at 2:32

  • Flores is so wrong Craig wins no matter what attacks him.

  • hell, i used to play... and surely it's better playing than watching, really boring, i won a MPH deatrhmatch while hearing this...

  • boring video...had to fast forward to see the ending..

  • This is a little too intense for me. I need my inhaler.

  • if i was ruel i would go crazy and flip the table over and have a tantrum (if that is how you spell tantrum)

  • Ridiculous. Ruel should have punched him.
