hey i have a question for you. when your male was making a bubble nest, did you leave your tank light on all the time until they spawned or you let them sleep, because its been two days and my male hasn't made crap yet with the female inside.
well this is a bad spawning technique ur not supposed to release the female until the bubble nest is fully completed and then he will have to put the eggs in a place...also the bottom of this tank is very very dirty and that is the worst the fry are to have the spotless clean because the fry can die as they rest against the floor you are lucky if the fry stay alive on the bottom..:)
there is the way to breeding betta without the bubble nest n the male take care the fry. im vietnamese live in USA but my friends in vietnam invented the way to take care the eggs n the fry without the male. all you need is the brine shitrm NET n the togo box n the tube to pickup the eggs at the bottom. so we bred it that way alot when the we have the bad male betta
i have a crown tail couple with the female's belly is about to explode (with eggs I assume) she is eating like a pig and never refuse another chunky worm. Should I expect them to spawn any time soon ? I have them together in a tank without air stone or any surface disturbance. I have no exp with betta, but used to successfully breed angels.
ok so my breeding pair is young,no more than 5mos old. i have a red and white parti hm male and a steele blue hm female. idk if it is because he has never done it b4 or what. he is not building a nest. he goes in to the half cup and will sit there for a few mins and then come out. its like he is sizing it up. water temp stays at 82. he is the only male betta i have had that will not build a nest. it is wierd. if you have a solution or som suggestions please contact me.
yeah, i can help you... Just message me with whatever questions you have. If you find a easy system for changing water, you can change the water as early as 1 week old.
hey how long were they together before you let the female go? and also do you think it matters if my bettas were in a tank with other tropical fish before i decided to mate them? or does it make no difference?
you want to give him the option. It's their natural extinct to build a nest under coverage, kinda like under a leaf. Having said that some males don't pick the cup to build nest under.
Each males is different. Some build their bubble nest first, some build it as they spawn. Both fish help collect eggs, some females eat the eggs. This female that I have is really rare, while I was conditioning her I saw her building a nest and placing her eggs in it. I was thinking about taking the male out to see if she would take care of the eggs as a experiment. Each fish are different, my other fish built his nest first.
how many hour before this pair start spawning I wonder.
