i remember this game back in the arcades, the cabinet sitting next to michael jackson's moonwalker. i think john is making this review late at night so as to not wake up his wife. he is whispering into the mic, hehehe
Thanks for the review; this took me back to my childhood. I remember the steering wheel for the arcade cabinet had no end caps on it so you could keep rotating it as much as you want. It made the experience much more challenging. But as I got older, I understood the significance of it.
It actually made steering and cutting corners MUCH easier. :D
My cousin has this game for the NES. I have played this game on the very collection you mentioned. Unfortuneatley this collection is the weakest in the series IMO. Still worth owning if you are a die hard fan of the games on this collection. Would be awesome if a MAT 4 came out.
This game had a big free spinning wheel that everyone would spin around as fast as they possibly could, probably prematurely breaking every Off-Road machine out there, unless they were just really durable. I never played it much but I guess it worked when I did... I sure always gave it a spin when I walked by though.
love this game, and dont think it had a bad port, i used to play it on ZX spectrum 128k and it was a great port, just minus the colours

Hmmm, this looks pretty generic. But, I can see why back then someone would have loved it.

That was my second favorite Arcade game growing up, I was always to cheap to pay for extras though.
