  • So it looks like road cycling keeps the beer belly away.

  • @GATORSHARK25 Cycling is my main form of exercise but I also run a little, walk and do basic strength training. I also make sure to eat high quality non-processed foods whenever possible. But one of the most important parts is that I don't consume beer in mass quantities. I usually will have a beer or two a few days a week. If you're interested you can check out the book I wrote "Beyond The Twelve-Ounce Curl" It's available on Amazon and is a great resource to help beer lovers get in shape.

  • @VideoBeerReviews I will check out your book. I love reading about health and fitness its one of my hobbies now. Very well said. Back in October, I cut out Process Foods, Aspertame, High Fructose Corn Syrup, GMO's, Sugar and Some salt and have lost 50 pounds in 6 months. Threw the pills at my doctors face and told him I don't need these anymore. I will drink about 6 beers a weekend and road cycle it off during the week. No beers for me during the week days.

  • keep on riding dude your doing great.

  • @MrHifonics I love riding and plan on doing it as long as possible. Thanks for watching!

  • I'm retired, and have found a passion of getting out and finding unique little mostly budget friendly getaways, and posting the videos on Youtube. The videos are all in HD, and the photography is pro-level.

Check em out, and let me know what ya think...

    Thanks

    Brent

  • Now I know why you're so damn thin.

  • @pinkync That's definitely part of it. I do burn a lot of calories riding, but that means I have room for some good beer at the end!

  • What is the best beer for a bike ride?

  • @toweronepower The best beer for a bike ride (while riding) is no beer! But, after you finish a bike ride, a nice crisp lighter bodied beer works great. Something like a Pale Ale, IPA or good lager.

  • @VideoBeerReviews I found Mama's Little Yella Pills at a local place here, it good after a good run...my wife and I are going to run a 5K at Disney in Feb.

  • @dechm4af That is a good post-workout beer, very tasty!

  • As always, great video! Glad you had fun. What're you drinkin at the end?

hey if you're looking for a great video camera, I'd highly recommend a Kodak Playsport. It got the best reviews out of the comparable HD mini cams. It shoots in full 1080p high def, It's very handy, about the size of a cell phone, and is waterproof up to 10 or 12 ft. If you're looking for something that you can mount to your bike, helmet, etc then check out the gopro, also a great hd mini cam.

  • @blackhog42 Thanks! I was drinking a Sierra Nevada Tumbler. The review will post on Friday. I'll definitely check out the gopro!

  • Great Ride man !!! I've done something like that back home but off-road and maybe not as steep. Here in Cali i sometimes go Mountain riding with a couple of friends, maybe i can record it and share it with you. Great way to finish the day with a beer. Cheers

  • @ticonbritt It was a great ride. We really enjoy riding up in the mountains. It's difficult but very scenic. Definitely let me know if you get some video of your riding. A beer is a great way to end a very active day!

  • dude so disappointed man you need to get a helmet cam really wanted to see that desent but other than that good vid

  • @smellpickle Yeah, I need to get one but I don't want to pay the dollars to get it. Maybe if I sell a bunch of copies of my book I can get a sweet helmet cam!

  • @VideoBeerReviews duct tape. lol

  • @smellpickle Yeah, the perfect solution!

  • damn buddy i bet your legs were smoked

  • @codycombs1984 They were at the top but once we got back down I was ready to go again. We had two other good climbs to do that ride. I'll do a video of the Six Gap Century in 3 weeks which covers the same roads.

  • Cameras never do hills justice.

  • @king15060 You're right, hills are almost 2x as steep as they are on film!

  • Wow that does look insanely steep, but what an astounding view.. It looks absolutely beautiful up there. I couldn't imagine fearing the descent (always my favorite part!), until I saw just how winding that road is on the graphic. Looks like some sharp turns to take going at such high speed on a bike. Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • @naturalswill It was insanely steep but the view is spectacular, especially that day. I normally like going downhill fast but this one was so steep that if you got any speed at all you wouldn't be able to stop. This was the 1st descent I've done where I was genuinely scared, it's that steep! I never got above 20 on the descent.

  • good stuff mark, that mini cam worked well, steep ascent! BEYOND 12 OZ. CURLS!!! GREAT JOB..CHEERS!!!

  • @19timus1 The mini cam does work great, especially for the $29 I paid for it! This was definitely the steepest climb I have ever done on a bike. It was crazy steep at that one section. I guess this would qualify as going "Beyond The Twelve Ounce Curl", huh?

  • 2.5 mile ascend? I'm pretty sure that would kill me. You're a bad motherfucker man.

  • @BitterPoetMadman 2.5 miles long but "only 1500 feet of elevation gain. it was a tough climb but fun, in a sick kind of way!

  • @VideoBeerReviews Oh... only 1500 miles huh? You are sick! haha

  • I love these videos. Reminds me of when I used to ride. How did you get the graphic. Do you use a gps on your bike?

  • @Imasofat I'm glad you like them. They're fun to put together. The graphic is from a search I did for "brasstown bald profile" on Google. The 2nd result is the one I used, it's from a site called mountainmapper(dot)com I don't have a GPS on the bike so I usually search Google for the info if i want it and usually I can find it.

  • Seems like a hell of a ride up there but that riude down aughta be a blast!

  • @James2179109 Riding up was actually more fun than going back down. The hill was so steep that I was genuinely afraid that I'd lose control. Good times!!

  • Whats your bike setup?

  • @tccompaq I've had a lot of requests asking about my bike. The short version is that I ride a 2008 Cannondale Synapse 3 road bike. I'm going to do a "bike video" that I'll post next Monday that will go over everything so stay tuned.

  • are these races or are they just for fun rides? how many people enter? what do you get if you win?

  • @ChadzBeerReviews All of the cycling videos I've posted have been rides, not official races. But, when you get a bunch of competitive people together someone wants to be the fastest, etc. The century rides I posted typically will have 1,500 to 2,000 people. This ride was just 5 of us. There are no official prizes for finishing or being the first to the top, except for bragging rights. It's all done for the love of the sport!

  • Glad you didn't slide off the cliff! Nice video...these are always fun.

  • @beernoob Yeah, it was a pretty scary descent. The brakes were on the entire time but the bike kept going forward. The hill was so steep (especially that one section). I'd ride up the hill again, but only if I could come back down in a car!
