  • Your performance @ Fun Fun Fun Fest 6 in Austin was epic man, you made several new fans.

  • does anybody else's video stop at 9 seconds in?

  • @AYoungJackass yep

  • As a non-hip-hop person humbled by Tech N9ne, I thank you for this other, more relaxed number.

  • Cecil Otter makes me think of a Hobbit, i don't know

  • 2 people have several step fathers

  • Whatever 2 ppl disliked this love Lil Wayne.

  • WHAT IS THIS SAMPLED FROM? I SWEAR IVE HEARD IT BEFORE

  • @jaylo310 You might be thinking House of the Rising Sun? The chord progression is similar.

  • How could somebody dislike this :( sad for people

  • This is a serious tune, what album is it off?

All i have is Rebel Yellow

  • @TheProjectAnti False hopes, I believe.

  • @AStaticCharacter Sweet, thanks

  • say what you want about his music (and im pretty sure the general opinion is that it is amazing), but you have to admit he has some balls for making his rap name cecil otter and not C money or some bull shit.

  • Seriously who cares what label he's on? I dont know if any of you know this, but the owners of every label that has been mentioned are all friends and have toured and collaborated, Rhymesayers, Strange Famous, Def Jux etc. they all work together, they've all got talent. It's like an extended family. Show some love people.

  • hes apart of strange fame rec

  • The Middle East, Cambridge Ma. November 2010, DOOMTREE! Spread the word. Cecil Otter restores my faith in true MC's and Hip Hop.

  • Where's this sample from?

  • Is Cecil with Doomtree or StrangeFamous? I haven't really heard much from Doomtree so I don't alot about those guys. Sick song though. I love all the underground talent.

  • @GhostofCaligula He's a member of Doomtree, but his solo stuff is on Doomtree Records AND Strange Famous Records.

  • @GhostofCaligula Both. He will release his solo stuff on Strange Famous while being part of the Doomtree collective. Alot like P.O.S. does with Rhymesayers.

  • DOOMTREE is great!

  • saw him n dessa stealin the stage with b dolan and sage before i ever heard of him. best show i've ever been to.

  • Yeah just checked he's not with rhymesayers. He was with doomtree and then signed with strange famous records who are working on rereleasing his last album to give him the publicity he deserves. Once a part of DTR though always a part of DTR. These guys aren't in it for the fame theyre in it for the rhymes, they're in it for the message, they're in it for the underground, they don't forget their roots.

  • doomtree is up and comming and for us that really appreciate the realness of what they do, theyve already made it.

  • great song.

  • this is the reson i listen to this kind of music. other than that i would hate it. but this makes me start to change my mind...

  • that was so good shit right there.

  • Rhymesayers and Definitive Jux are soo closely related they are almost one in the same. Aesop Rock (Def Jux) and Slug (Rhymesayers) do tracks, records all the time. Felt 3 was produced by Aes. Doomtree has done shit with slug as well. Too say that Rhymesayers is keeping underground underground goes to show how narrow minded you are to hip hop.

  • just because the artists collab. together doesn't make the labels one in the same. In fact the sounds, that either label, put out are quite different. Apple to Oranges, my friend, Apples to Oranges. And Doomtree is more a Collective than anything else, yea they put out records but its kind of limited.

  • And even if I agree with what you said about the underground part, I would have to disagree as well mainly because what you're saying is that a label like Rhymesayers lends itself to the greater good of the underground by giving its artists creative control, giving them good distribution, and a name branding that people in the underground respect for giving them what they want.

  • Unlike labels like Koch or Def Jam, who yes give their artists a wide distribution deal but limit their creativity. The lyrics to Atmosphere's "One of a Kind" fit pretty well. "Put your deal up on our table and we'll show who's the pimp."

  • yes jbheartsjrb i agree with you. I made a statement about def jux without listening to everything. I really only jam with aesop rock c-ray and el-p. Regarding rhymesayers keeping underground underground, i still stand by that but i never said that they are alone in "preserving" underground. Music to me is always evolving if it didnt change i would get tired of it quickly. This is someone whose itunes playlist goes from Aesop Rock to atmosphere to alanis morrisette to sugarland

  • Doomtree's False Hopes

  • i saw cecil with kristoff krane and hes such a awesome and down to earth guy. doomtree is the shit and cecils my favorite of em

  • wat a cool show! love kristoff 2! and sms!

  • i met kristofff haha kind of a douchee..

  • wack, i hate it when my fav rappers are a-holes. Glad 2 here cecil's cool tho cuz he's my fav 4rm doomtree 4 sure!

  • Rhymesayers artists are keeping the Underground Hip Hop scene alive and kicking

  • Cecil's not a member of Rhymesayers. He's with the Doomtree cats.

  • @FraudulentMCAssassin Don't forget Strange Famous. Both labels are infinitely better than RSE

  • @GotAnEyedea are you retarded RYHMESAYERS is the best independent hip hop label there is. every artist on that label is fuckin ill. I listen to notin but that real shit.

  • @Chetrooper1 The only good core members of rhymesayers are Eyedea & Abilities. I havent heard much from anyone but the core members. They're shit, "HURR RAP MUSIC"

  • @Chetrooper1 since you only listen to that is the reason you think they are the best. Honestly strange famous beats every indie/UG hip hop label out there

  • @Chetrooper1 serious. rhymesayers is about the artists, so it is going to attract only the best.

  • @FraudulentMCAssassin he is also with strange famous records

  • @FraudulentMCAssassin strange famous, technicly.

  • @FraudulentMCAssassin and strange famous

  • Where can i download this?!?!?!?

  • i love how he flows to this.

  • man this song makes me cry it is so amazing

  • Too bad Cecil is no longer signed with Doomtree. He signed onto Sage Francis' Strange Famous Record Label. I doubt he will ever forget his Doomtree roots though!

  • He is actually on both...he still remains part of their crew. He will still rep doomtree.

  • Isn't he with strange famous now?

  • @capturethatflag4

yeah but he still does collaborative stuff with doom tree

  • simply true hip hop at its finest.

  • Agreed.

  • Nothing better then real hip hop

  • love it!!!

  • doom the fuck tree!!!

  • First time I've heard a solo track from Cecil. Great sound...encouraging. Doomtree rules, and so does Cecil.

  • I hung out with cecil at the Bad Waitress, cool guy.

  • the beginning of this song reminds me of tolerance level by non-prophets.

  • Cecil has quickly shot up my list of favs, in the company of El-p Atmosphere Aesop rock and Del... not bad not bad

  • i taught cecil to play pool.

  • I taught pool to play cecil

  • I cant wait to see him tom at the turf club

  • DOOMTREE

    doomtree

    DOOMtree

    doomTree
