unfortunatley in most cases, with time and use, these cars lose horsepower, 320hp is actually quite good considering its age, my dino 308 should be 250hp but only delivers about 215hp, in time im going to have the top end rebuilt, new pistons, valves etc, which should help the problem, the car still drives superb and gives no problems at all, anyway i agree, this car is one of my most favourites.
Are you saying that your car made 215 rear wheel horsepower? If so you are pretty darned close to Ferrari's optimistic 255 quoted hp figure for 308s. Most early 2V 308s make somewhere between 190-200 rear wheel horsepower. A freshly built motor was dynoed by Carobu and they were only able to get 235hp out of it at the flywheel.
@tommott77 Thanks for the info! I honestly never knew that, I was told by the cars previous owner, to be exact was 213hp, so in actual terms my car is running pretty good then!??? lol and here is me thinking that it needs work done, as I said, she runs perfect in every other way, purrs like a pussycat, no knocks or pings or missfires, thanks a loot for the info much appreciated
Ferrari claimed 352hp but considering 320hp on the rear wheels is about 10% loss, and that is the usual amount of loss to the rear wheels, then this old Ferrari still does really good.

This one should produce about 350Hp. It's regarded as one of the most beautiful Ferraris.
