exactly what happened to mine. i have no idea how it got scratched and i only had it for 3 0r 4 days. i tried the toothpaste trick but it still didn't work. and now im really pissed off because that game was addicting.
For people that are just lazy and have lots or want to spend their cash, pick up a Skipdoctor Motorized. Disc is fixed in 30 seconds. So much I can write here but if you want products that work the best then just ask.
If you have damaged the printed side (other side of the disc) down to the dye, then your fucked, through the disc away.
dood that disc is not bad at all, you can fix that easy. If ur cheap or short on cash, get some polishing compound (for car paint, a type that can be hand applied) & polish the scratches till they are removed or almost are (a wide V is fine usually & the laser can read it once the edges r rounded over) . Clean&Buff. If u want to protect it, use a rubbing compound to remove all swirls & then carnauba wax on top of that. Perfectly safe to playback.
360 isnt very shock-resistant to say the least, it killed my sc4 just by bumping my foot against the desk it was standing on, it was really a minor shock, nothing seemed to happen but my disc was immediately scratched like yours; 2 fat rings around the whole disc. Oh yea, the desk is very large, heavy and stable so that would also make my foot take most of the shock. Woozy console
Just buy another, install it on your hard drive and return it and get your cash back, then you can play your scratched one, as the xbox should still recognize the game, but not be able to play it.
You could try installing the scratched one, doubt it would work though

this happened to me. my controller was plugged in and i pulled the wire by accident and my xbox 360 fell over i managed to get the xbox before it hit the ground. but i heard the disk moving inside the 360 tray. i opened the tray and my left 4 dead game had the same scratch as your game but worse.
funny thing is my friend had a c o d 4 disk in his x box and it didnt work and he went to turn a light off with a shoe and it hit the x box and scratched the disc and it finally worked but it wouldnt work before the scratches >:D
Happened to me a while ago tehn forgot bout it for a few months and got a new disc it worked i managed to complete the game start a family and get over 600 gamerscore worth of achievements but it scratched again and gonna get a new if this one breaks ill just wait for fable 3 xD

If you have a Hollywood Video in your town they have a machine there that will buff out scratches. It will not compleely fix it if the scratch is deep but on my CoD 5 they fixed just about all of it. The game now works except for one or two maps instead of not working at all

actually, the lesson learned here is, A) keep your xbox on the ground B) dont leave your games in the tray when not in use and C)Disk trays suck for this very reason, thats one thing PS3 has over 360
I found that using a disc scratch remover machine twice and then polishing the disc allows me to save it to HDD. However, I can't play it unless it has been saved to HDD. Maybe this technique will work for you too.

was playing GTA 4 - and out of nowhere it says " disc unreadable" i was trying to clean it up and restart it again, "Disc unreadable" installed it to hard drive "disc unreadable" and i have that game like a month or 2 :(
btw, its normal for alot of 360 consoles, that's the pain of having one mines lasted for about 2 years now, from having constant maintenance(sending up my 360 console to microsoft company for check ups) it may cost about $30 a month (AU) but its well worth it if u want ur 360 console to survive as well as your games.

iva had that happen to me its when you move the xbox or bump it, the disc gets out of place and gets on the edge where it scratches the whole rim of the disc

Risefortruth is wrong that the 360 wouldn't need it if you installed it. I assume he meant "install" instead of "download". After an install, you still need the disk in the drive and it needs to be readable. Sorry for your loss.

I used to have a 360 until mine messed up (it was freezing a lot). I only had it about a week. So I said fuck them im not putting up with a system breaking down in 1 week. Not really, right out of the box my 360 had a burning smell coming from it was a jasper model made in April 2009. And Blu ray is NOT same as DVD, it has a cleaner picture. You wouldn't be really saying that exclusives are crap when they release GOW 3. Sony announced that they are selling a special remastered bundle of GOW 1 & 2 for PS3 in December. I agree PSN sucks but that's usually how it's with free stuff; you can't ask for much.

There are a lot of problems with fable 2 on older 360's so contact Microsoft because for most of the problems they wont charge you for repairs. But call them or something to see if they'll cover it. Also when they repair it you get another warranty

My xbox just toppled when i was playing ( it was standing vertically ). the disc is completely scratched. but was working until lionhead' studio logo then freezes on white screen. I rented a copy from the store, and the game freezes up at white screen too. it is like it swears that it will never play the game again :(. Could my xbox is damaged ? Put it horizontally on a hard floor if it already isn't and get a intercooler. I've never EVER had a problem with my 360, no over heating problems cause of the intercooler. I've left my Halo 3 running in the machine for about 16 hours whilst playing an occasional game or two. Came out fine and perfect, xbox 360 is a little warm to the touch but still nothing happens.
Go to your local Blockbuster/GAME and ask them if they can fix it. Same happened to me and they put it in this machine thing and it played fine afterwards. GL ;)

When my GTA4 disc got scratched, I was thinking of bringing my scratched disc to block buster in a car or something, rent the game, swap discs behind the store and say " Hmm, the disc already had scratches on, care for giving me a refund?" :D
In the end I decided to get my game buffed up in a local game store and it's all good.

This happened to me with CoD 4, CoD 5 and MW2. For some reason it didnt happen with any other game.
Main solution, go to a disc cleaner and they WILL get it out. Plus it's only £2. Then when you get home, Install to your hard-drive. Easy.

if you have gamefly you can swap the disc in the mail and complain they gave you a scratched disc. that is what my friend does.

iva had that happen to me its when you move the xbox or bump it, the disc gets out of place and gets on the edge where it scratches the whole rim of the disc

freakin douchebag download the game the game to your harddrive and then ur xbox doesn't need to read the disk as much and makes it play more quietly faggot why did you but ps3... downloading it to harddrive makes it better and last longer

I've had a ps3 since launch and it has not broken thus far. Whereas I've been through 4 360's in about the same amount of time. Please proof read your comments before you post.

Risefortruth is wrong that the 360 wouldn't need it if you installed it. I assume he meant "install" instead of "download". After an install, you still need the disk in the drive and it needs to be readable. Sorry for your loss.

the problem is that you bumped your xbox 360. i did the same thing which caused a circular scratch. next time when playing put your xbox 360 further away from you so you don't bump it while playing

I would be pissed as hell if this happened to me. I honestly don't know why some of you guys keep supporting 360 with all the problems they have. I used to have a 360 until mine messed up (it was freezing a lot). I only had it about a week. So I said fuck them im not putting up with a system breaking down in 1 week. I now have a PS3 and used to have a Wii but I gave it to my brother so he'll have something to play. Why don't you guys look into a PS3 or Wii. No way I would put up with this shit.

Not really, right out of the box my 360 had a burning smell coming from it was a jasper model made in April 2009. And Blu ray is NOT same as DVD, it has a cleaner picture. You wouldn't be really saying that exclusives are crap when they release GOW 3. Sony announced that they are selling a special remastered bundle of GOW 1 & 2 for PS3 in December. I agree PSN sucks but that's usually how it's with free stuff; you can't ask for much.

I agree with you. I can't wait for GOW3. I'm just trying to decide if I should buy the new bundle of 1 & 2, I already have them for ps2 lol. You're right about blu-ray, the clarity is amazing. The PSN is kind of ugly now, but I've never had a problem with it.

thats what happen to my smash bros disk on my wii. i changed it for a new disk and it didnt happen again. (but i guess 360's are different). There are a lot of problems with fable 2 on older 360's so contact Microsoft because for most of the problems they wont charge you for repairs. But call them or something to see if they'll cover it. Also when they repair it you get another warranty

My xbox just toppled when i was playing ( it was standing vertically ). the disc is completely scratched. but was working until lionhead' studio logo then freezes on white screen. I rented a copy from the store, and the game freezes up at white screen too. it is like it swears that it will never play the game again :(. Could my xbox is damaged ? All the other game i own are working perfectly ...

Put it horizontally on a hard floor if it already isn't and get a intercooler. I've never EVER had a problem with my 360, no over heating problems cause of the intercooler. I've left my Halo 3 running in the machine for about 16 hours whilst playing an occasional game or two. Came out fine and perfect, xbox 360 is a little warm to the touch but still nothing happens.

well fuck the cord u plug into the controller to charge ur xbox battery, cuz right when i got the game and played it, i tripped over the cord and then my xbox made spinning noises and i was like fuck.... and one 180 degree scratch on the edge ruined the game and it freezes everytime

When my GTA4 disc got scratched, I was thinking of bringing my scratched disc to block buster in a car or something, rent the game, swap discs behind the store and say " Hmm, the disc already had scratches on, care for giving me a refund?" :D
In the end I decided to get my game buffed up in a local game store and it's all good.

Yeah, AvaDaBrave, if u save ur game u would have the bobble heads cuz games save 2 the hard drive NOT the disc. Fallout 3 even autosaves so u would b near the bobble head
