Yes you visited the dog and pony show of the dmz called Panmunjom don't take this as the real dmz. If you want to see the real army that patroled the dmz check out the website dmzvets.webs.com lots of picture there to check out so tired of everybody thinking that panmunjom is the dmz it's the truce village where north and south meet thats all the jsa used to patrol the mocha A back in the 80's don't know if the do anymore there just a trip wire.
1:54 - I don't think so. The land on which that building sits is extraterritorial to both North and South Korea. When you are in that building, you are in *neither* Korea.
You would have to serve there and done the combat patrols from CP Liberty Bell that we use to do up till August 1991! My last trip was 1998 for the Repatriation Ceremonies; The repatriation of Korean War remains!
This propaganda video reminds us all who the real agressors are and who is steadfast in maintaining the stand-off. A visit on the NK side is much, much more interesting, and much, much more civilized. Talk about arrogance - oh dear oh dear ...
@passwordforgetter unless you live in north korea theres no way you culdve had a tour with them as their country is completed off-limits to all foreign civilians
@turkeybaconable Nonsense. The DPRK welcomes visitors from every single country except for one ... The Republic of Korea, which is where the Americans run the show ... Yet another occupation of foreign land, and nobody who seems to care ... sad sad world. Everybody, grab the chance to visit the DPRK and hear the true version of history, unadulterated, uncensored and with plenty of evidence to back up the claims ...
@TheUPLOADER111 Respectfully, the flag patch is not backwards. The United States Flag patch is worn on Military Uniforms, the Stars Field faces forward. The same rule applies as well if one should put a United States Flag on any vehicle, plane, etc. The proper name for the flag patch worn on the right shoulder of military personel is, "reverse side flag". GO NAVY Have a great day! ~pamela
Please tell me why the guard type bloke has to wear shades indoors? boring talk though, I bet nothing exciting has happened there since he had a flat tire in 1998
If it wasn't for american help south Korea would probably not even exsist the Americans came in and helped the south push north korea back to where it is now north Korea had south pushed down to about the size of maryland
I once knew a guy who went to North Korea in the late 90s as part of a touring American basketball team. They were to play the North Korean National team on national TV and they were told they had to lose the game. The North Korean team had a guy who stood 7-foot-8. They were told they could not take any pictures while in the country. The guy stayed in the capital city and he said it was manditory lights out after darkness. He said there were a lot of statues of Kim Jong Il.
@fireking9934 nah i don't think you have to have black belt.. in taekwondo.. they take volunteers or normal soldiers from the bootcamp like any other battalion
Fucking these people talking down on North Korea and laughing away like some kind of joke. I assume they are Americans, and pretty ironic where America invaded so many countries and fought the most wars and killed the most people . . .
you guys do know you can visit north korea right??i visit my family in north korea by using koreo tours..the north korean gaurds are much much nicer than the south korean gaurds..
@MrJhuneo1 get out of here north korea soo fucked up to americans or other people that if you take a picture wrong of the statue of the president they will kick you out of their country -.-
Very sad. 60 Years plus. Same family lines. Same last names. Same language. Same religion. Why not just hug and make up. Father and maker in heaven seen enough sad things. This is why we need his Kingdom to fix these problems and not man. Matthew 6:9,10 Ps. 37:10,11 Matthew 5:5 Revelation 21:3,4
@allknowfather Both of the same family lines. Both eat the same foods. Both worship their forefathers as most of the earth does. The only thing 55% of there national government of both spend on a wall that is made to keep people seperated. They need to know their maker from the scriptures. If one would use the principles that Jesus communicated and shared instead of pointing a gun. It would be a lot easier to communicate. They have to know the truth from God. Ps. 83:18
hey man, that military guy seems like having fun putting all those people in that conference room. you all dont know something, but if one of these people cross the border just by one millimeter their like expectancy will be 66 seconds. lol
@snowcamper Over 7,000 Filipinos fought in the Korea War - the 4th largest foreign contingent. During the Great Spring Offensive of 1951, the Filipinos were able to hold the line against advancing NK and Chinese forces while everybody else to their left and right were falling back. We killed lots of communists in Korea. Too bad South Koreans nowadays have little respect for Filipinos.
@qingxian1981 for the most part the answer to your question is yes. If you are in the UN controlled JSA photos and video are allowed. Behind the line in the Republic of Korea controlled area they tell you not to photograph or video anything.
I'm pretty sure they do, or at least they used to.
One of the stories our tour guide told us was of a soviet tourist, back before the USSR became history, who was on a tour on the North Korean side and made a run for South Korea to defect.
Our tour guide, a US marine, told us the tourist made it across, the North Korean soldiers ran after him and a small gun fight ensued between soldiers on both sides. I think a few soldiers died but the tourist successfully defected and lives in California to this day....all according to the marine.
@daffyman33 I'm pretty sure they do, or at least they used to.
