I think one of the reasons why the CFL is so underground (even in Canada) is because there are only 8 teams. There used to be like more than 10 back in the 90s during the CFL USA era, but that expansion just totally flopped, so the CFL was then reduced to only Canadian teams. The CFL isn't generating as many fans as they hope, and that was a huge reason why the Ottawa Renegades folded a couple of years ago. Sooner or later, the entire CFL may have to fold.
