But unlike the European slavetraders, the Arabs treated their slaves like equals with respect.Even some black people in the ancient Arabic times did make a very big name for themselfs and had political influence. I don't think you could do that in the US in the 30's were they treaded blacks like animals. The only discriminated group were non-muslims(which is in my opinion also wrong) but you could prevent that by calling yourself a muslim.

Slavery and discrimination are not the same thing nor is racism for that matter no matter how hard you try to redefine it, it will never be slavery.
That fact and the point is that in the West we got rid of slavery well before the Islamic world.
Comparing how blacks are treated in the West, even the US is a joke in comparison to the Islamic world. Full rights /legal protection unlike in much of the Islamic world.
Human rights are generally non-existent in the Islamic world.

Google the Abolishment of Slavery timeline - you'll see as I've shown you that slavery in at least five Arab/Muslim countries only became outlawed in the 50's,60's,70's and 80's.
There is not a single aya or surah in your Qur'an that proscribes slavery explicitly.
Trying to make segregation slavery as you are prisons fails you argument is null and void. You have no case. As for glass ceilings Obama is a half-black.

@tarquinfarquhar the book cites several samples of estimated death rates anywhere from 3%-400%. there's no way of knowing the actual death rate for every slave arrived so several samples are provided on the book.
