  • plzzzzz man make a video how to build this one

    i need to know

  • Wow, what a frash idea of gimbal building! Thank you, anyway I want to make GlideCam, not poor Merlin system)

  • what a lens converter ?

  • hey, looks like you're from the Philippines too. are you in Metro Manila? I'm interested in your DIY steadicam, how much did you spend for it? can I ask for your help in making one? I'd like a list of the parts needed, specifications, etc. so I can make one too. help a kababayan :)

  • awesome! thanks!

  • Could you please make a more detailed tutorial on how it is made? It is the best DIY Steadicam I have seen, not to mention the most affordable looking. Thanks a'million.

  • I see it always wants to swing to the left....

  • @TheOriginalJoeBloggs the swing was simulated, it was just a shooting style to make the shot look like a bird's point of view when flying :)

  • @DIYfilmaker - OK

  • magkano lahat gastos mo bro?

  • @dawgbite prototype kase to, trial and error kaya mejo patalon talon ang presyo nung gnawa ko..pero kung gagawa ko ule na gamay ko na mga 2000 to 2500pesos kaya na un.. mura lang aluminium sa Carriedo

  • Very smooth. Do you think a smaller version could be made for a GoPro?

  • @knordberg a smaller version maybe possible i think, but a smaller unit has less inertia, stability might be a problem..

  • cheeeers.great job. im a user of those thousand dollars steadicam that you mentioned. and hav to tell you my friend, your invention, is worship-able . wish you the best.

  • @alitordoubadi tnx :)

  • Dude! You've got poop all over your gimbal... Not cool man... Not cool at all.

  • Hello! Congratulations for your work. It is very professional. I'm from Brazil and I am also developing my based on many who have researched and through professional results that meet me, because I work professionally since 1994. Your idea is great and the result pleased me floating. You can post detailed photos of your Steadycam on a website or blog? Now thanks!

    (translated text in Google Translate)

  • @wwweu tnx:) but i dont have a website, only an account on youtube

  • @DIYfilmaker

    are you from phil?

  • @mrjanjerome i am from phil :)

  • hey, does it have a camera mount at the bottom?? and by the way, is that tagaytay?

  • @orika001yes it does have a camera mount at the bottom for low mode shooting, ndi to sa tagaytay sa batasan hills QC lang to '',)

  • @DIYfilmaker thanks for the response bro! astig ng video mo...

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of THEE best DIY steadicam I've seen on youtube

  • do you have uploaded any tutorial video for this stabilizer?

  • The result is really great! Don't you wan't to write a tutorial about it? From the film I don't really get how you constructed it...

  • Do you had trouble adjusting the counterweight so that your cam sits the way you wanted? For instance, it's tilted to the front, but you can only adjust the counterweight either left or right, so that's quite a problem.

And if you want to shoot upward(at the sky) during your shot, how can you fix your steadicam to stay upward, without hassle(holding the long rod)?

  • @chronousnemesis no you can adjust the counter weight in the x and y axis, and you can adjust the camera in the x and y axis too... i have several ways to balance the system.. i can balance at the bottom or at the top or maybe both.. It doesnt matter where i adjust as long as it is in dynamic balance.. '',)

And if want to shoot upward, or downward... you can make the camera tilt up or down by adjusting the balance..or just tilt the post while shooting so you wont have to rebalance again '',)

  • @DIYfilmaker where did you bought your bearing? yan ba ung sa kotse???

  • @orika001 ou sa kotse tsaka bisekleta, sa automotive shop madame ibat ibang size

  • Congratulations this is the best amateur "camstab" I´ve ever seing on the web, not by the appereance, but the results. The image is very professional. I´m developing something to go inside a car and I´ll use some of your ideas.

  • Also, where'd you get the ball bearings from? So far I've searched home depot , no success yet

  • @KayDome i bought the ball bearings from an automotive parts retailing shop, there are many kinds and sizes of ball bearings available there.. NSK, MALEX, and many more brands of ball bearings are available.. they are not expensive and the price depends on the brand..you might wana buy a stainless steel ball bearings, it will cost much more than an ordinary steel bearing but it will not rust and will last longer..

  • WHat do u use for counter weight?

  • @KayDome i use aluminium flatbars cut into small pieces and small centavo coins for fine tuning.

  • steadicam is not about looking good =) it's the stability of the shot that counts.

i've seen thousand dollar worth of camera stabilzer demo shots posted in youtube.. (gildecam, flycam and EVEN a STEADICAM PILOT)and they're like just hanheld shots.. you see it is not the looks or the worth of the equipment that matters to me.. it's the capability to obtain the shot i want.. A Steady fluid shot =)

thanks for the comment man ( ",

  • That thing is about the ugliest steadicams I've seen, but also probably one of the most effective... Thanks, great job.
