I would have put a fucking bear trap in the water, for when the owner's come and retrieve it. Honestly should have cut it, I do not respect any person who performs illegal activities on our fish and fisheries. ( river's & streams )

We overfish the resource ? Have you done any research on fish populations globally or are you just believing what you read ? You can not get fined or get thrown in jail just for being near a net. Law enforcement has to have this little thing called proof, of ownership of the net.

i commercial fish for a living but i dont believe in poaching fish. i try to obey the laws as closely as possible. if its illegal it should be reported. its the poachers who help give us a bad name, but im tired of hook and line fishermen saying they cant catch any fish and blaming it on gillnetters. maybe its your lack of skill with a fishing rod causing you to be unsuccessful. or maybe the fish aren't hungry. not gonna bite just cause u want em to. ever considered that.
Caught a 3 pound fish up this river today, totally covered in netmarks. Just goes to show that poaching is rampant on this river. The majority of the summer run is getting netted in the lower river. Am tempted to get a group together to do some hands-on conservation work!
