You can't download ANYTHING to the Wii because the DLC will be 100 megabytes just for ONE character. Considering that would take up 1/5 of the Wii's internal memory, it's not going to happen on the Wii. I know that for a FACT. Period.

with an FPS its easy, you join whatever map you have but in a game like this it seems like if one person out of 8 in a lobby doesn't have the DLC then the whole lobby can only play standard maps as that one person doesn't have the extra maps downloaded.
I think the animation in which Sonic grabbed his crotch like Michael Jackson was censored or taken out, haven't seen it in the demo. by pressing the item button you sound the claxon but among the animations i didn't see that one anywhere.
Maybe some politically correct groups had a hand in this matter.

Mario Kart has been in a horrendously sad state lately. It's been hampered by stupid rubberbanding/cheating AI, ridiculous item imbalance and race tracks that are blander than porridge. Mario Kart Wii was the weakest racing game I've ever played.
What channel is this show back on? It used to be on Bravo (UK) but it disappeared last year... Great show!
Anyway this looks to be a great game, okay this may be Mario Kart's domain... and also had it's own Mario Tennis alike game. But that shouldn't discourage people from playing what looks to be a great game... despite the not so great challenges.

in the first Mario Kart game you couldn't even drift but I forgive that because that's how fun it actually was, the controls were simple and you didn't end up sliding all over the place unless you got hit by a turtle shell or went over a discarded banana peal, so overall you were able to ignore any minor negative things about it
Mario Kart Wii is overrated. the Items are cool but unbalanced, the Tracks leave much to be desired and the the selection of characters got desperate.
