Looks amazing, love! Just a tip, don't forget the chestnuts. It's tempting, because they're so small and people rarely notice them, but it greatly helps the illusion of the drawing's being real. And I also really hate hooves...when there's a shoe on it's not so bad, or when they're flat, but when they're flicked up like the left hind hoof on this guy, they're a pain. But bravo! Exceptionally done!

I`m trying to make digital horse paintings for a while, but it`s so hard to do it!

Do you work with layers in Gimp? And how? Do you have one white layer and one transparant layer? And how do you make it so that you can paint in colours on the transparant? It doesnt work by me.. i can only paint in gray colours on the paper.... Very weird..

I skipped the part when GIMP was opening and loading the picture. It works like MS paint. You go up to File and click open and find your picture.

Oh, OK haha. Um, when you get to the site, you'll se something that says 'GIMP for Windows' or go down if you have a Mac. look for a little white box with an arrow pointing right and next to that is a a link that says download gimp 2.6.6 (or the newest version) If you click on that, it should install.

As a general rule, I enjoy painting on Adobe Photoshop CS4, but I love GIMP's simplicity for speed painting. One question, do you use smudge tool or blur tool when blending the colours?

Yeah, I like it. I use the smudge tool the most but occasionally I'll use a bit of the blur tool.

Just to say - since you use GIMP, this helped me A LOT! But... Your taking WAY too much effort for the lineart.

What to do for lineart with a horse: open the horse in GIMP. Then use Ctrl + N, then select with the rectangular select tool After that, copy and paste it onto the horse. Then lower the ocupancy down about halfway, till you can see the horse well. Then use the pencil tool, fuzzy... Make its size 0.05. then trace the horse, higher the ocupancy, then save the horse!!

How do you get it so that you can select the color on the real horse so that you can use that color on the digital horse? I tried it by opening the horse picture on the internet, and it just clicks off of GIMP. Please help.
