While in labor my blood pressure rose to 170/104, i got a sudden sickening headache and saw black spots. It was very strange. I was able to opt for a epidural and rest then deliver vaginally. The other option was csection if it continued which i did Not want unless it was an emergency. I didn't want an epidural but it was a better option then the csection
I think it's so amazing how you educated yourself from your first pregnancy to the second. I, one day:), want to have a home birth and your videos are so amazing and educational; I know I will be referencing them for a long time to come.
I have talked to my doctor about preventing it but since I have had it with 2 of my 3 pregnancies. (the 3rd one I lost at 6 months so maybe would have had it with her also) she said I will probably have it with all my babies. But I will give it a try, it sure couldn't hurt to give it a try. Just love your videos and look forward to each and everyone of them.
I was diagnosed with it for my 1st pregnancy. But they didn't notice it until I went into labor. I was given IV meds , they said would make me very moody, and hot. LOL Not fun while in labor.. But I was lucky with my 2nd and didn't get it! :)
My Dr. Told me it was 50/50 for next time and I got it! It was BAD!!! I was told If I got pregnant again that it was a 50/50 again and it would most likely be worse an me and the baby could even die sooo Im not going to take the chance. But Im glad it worked out for you! your a very lucky woman!! :)
Thank you so much for this vid!! I was diagnoses with pre-eclampsia when i was 28 weeks and had an emergency C-section at 30 weeks. I would try anything if it can prevent pre-eclampsia in my next pregnancy. My boy was in NICU for 2.5 months and only weighed 1.8 pounds (970 grams) and we almost lost him and i def. do not want to go through that experience again.
I suffered preclampsia with my only child and had a c-section at 37 weeks. What I still don't understand is why you need to consume more protein in order to avoid excessive amounts of it in your body :-S I plan to have a second child in a couple of years and I'll do anything in my power to avoid developing preclampsia again.
idk why and if its just me, but at around a min into your video your audio is going too slow for the video and is not matching your mouth movements. sucks bc i i want to know what youre saying :/
I'm not for sure, but I think the later in pregnancy you develop pre eclampsia the less likely for developing it with future pregnancies. I developed it at 34 ish weeks also. But was fine with my second and third.
OMgosh your video could not have come at a better time. I have been seen at the hospital 5 time since Wednesday due to highblood pressure and protein in my urine. My midwife put me on bedrest and this has helped Alot!! I will need to get that book that you mentioned. BTW I'm 31 weeks!
How do you know you "prevented" pre-eclampsia vs not developing it at all this pregnancy by chance alone? I could have been nothing you did really. Some of these studies with large cohorts of women (several hundred thousand) found the incidence of pre-eclampsia in subsequent pregnancies to be as low as 14%. I'm not trying to be rude, I just think it's important to point out the distinction between prevention and probability of developing it.
@Jlk6532 I dont which is why I touched on that... every professional caregiver I asked had a % ranging as low as your 14ish to 90... so who really knows... but if these things are said to help then why not? I will FOR SURE practice these things again if were blessed with another pregnancy... I wish I would have known with my first pregnancy!
Thank you for sharing. At my appt today the np I saw said the earlier you get it in your pregnancy the more likely you are to get it again I developed it with ella around 37 weeks I think so she said my chances are very slim
Thank you for sharing!! I will be TTC soon, so the more information the better! I know I will have such a hard time with protein.. I know I don't eat enough now so I'm sure I'll be lacking while pregnant. Thanks again for sharing with us! You look great!
I took Bradley classes with my first pregnancy and they really talk a lot about the importance of protein. My OB never even mentioned that to me. It's so crazy that doctors don't tell you these things too!
Thanks so much for this info! I'm only pre TTC right now but my homeopathic dr has me on d supplements & a higher protine diet now :). You look great & I love your videos!
When I was 22 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. After going to the OBGYN every week , I went into pre term labor and gave birth at 29 weeks. Also, a friend of mine had the same experience and actually went into eclampsia (seisures, etc.) And in both cases our doctor inform us that it will most likely be just a severe with future children. You are very lucky with your experience with pre-eclampsia and I am very happy for your healthy pregnancy and baby.
I had my daughter at 25 weeks, was diagnosed with it around 21/22 weeks. She was born emergency Csection, so anything that can help with the second one I would be willing to try! Thank you for the update!!
wow!!! u look amazing already so soon after delivering!!! i started watching your videos when u were pregnant with baby #2....so maybe that is why u look so different!!
