I agree that this is perfect for commuting. I have a gsxr 600 K9 and lock my rear wheels often on the street but never in the canyons. My next bike will have C-ABS. I hope Suzuki offers ABS on their 750's in the future. If not, then I'll go to the dark side and get the CBR 600 RR. No need for the 1000cc. Way too much power for canyons.
ok where is the test don't tell me is when he stopped and that's it so you got only about 8sec with the bike from 4 minutes video wow that's really crashed me
when I read this title, I thought you were going to pose shirtless next to a motorcycle showing off your abs. I am reporting this video for having a misleading title.
now i need a cbr1000rr abs. my 600rr no abs. bikeland bring your program to georgia try atlanta motor speedway. it seems honda is hard to beat.. bmw has the new s1000rr but somehow i am not impressed with it.
the white gsxr looks good, but they should not offend other programs.. i got the power commander. just have not installed it yet. and i also need a filter. and another question. i have wanted to get a full exhaust but some bike experts have told me i could lose bottom end power. but with the PC, and the after market filter, how much power would that add?
false alarm! everything is fine with the bike. just a high purrr noise. i want to get a K&N airfilter or BMC and a power commander later for it. no trouble with it now. it hugs curves like a C-clamp.
i got a question if someone could answer. i got a 2009 cbr600rr and the other day, i had a 2 bros slip on installed it seems like my shifting feels heavy and my rpms are slow. what would be the problem?
@nuclearboy78 really? that isnt good. I just got my '09 cbr and was planning to order an aftermarket exhaust. Maybe you need to dynojet it? (power commander)
3 weeks ago I had a small accident with my new ZX6r2008 during hard braking on the red lights. The brake lever slip out my finger and I suddenly grabed it again quite hard, to stop before crossing and then my front wheel blocked because I hit slippy part of the road. I felt on my right shoulder and right knee. My bike had whole right side scrached. Back then if I would have ABS like on my first ER-6n nothing bad would happned. It's a great invention that helps to avoid most of the accidents.
I was in no way trying to deter anyone from going fast. I love it too. However I do believe ABS is better even for highly experienced racers. It allows maximum braking with minimal thought, you can use your mental resources elsewhere. Traction control is another issue altogether and it doesnt allow you to step the rear out without cancelling the power which is not good in competition or closed course stuff. Regardless of who you are, take a performance driving/riding class, learn and enjoy.
Interesting comments! "My first bike and I do 160mph (I do understand the desire, temptation and feel of acceleration, I also know what it is like to not walk for 6 months), unfortunately you will learn the hard way. We all go down, too bad you are going to do that fast your first time. Second ABS has much faster processing speeds than your brain. It can apply and release many more time per second than you can. Some people didnt like the wheel when it came out either.
for new riders thinking about getting the abs i suggest it. i got an 08 600rr last june and within 2 weeks of pulling it out this spring i got cut off and had to put the bike down. if i had the abs i would not have crashed. what happend was someone made a left in front of me coming from the other way and i slammed on the front and rear brakes so hard both tires locked up and the bike fell over. 20mph.......the bike did a kinda sideways endo and popped me off to the side. it sucked
the accident was still not my fault, and the other drivers insurance fixed my bike, but if it had been someone who wouldnt stop and they just ran off i would have been fucked. plus i felt like a noob. i was mad at myself for over-reacting like that. anyways, the abs is pretty sweet. yea it kinda takes away from performance but these bikes are fast as fuck reguardless. my only complaint is i dont think you can turn the system off when you want to play. i love dragging the rear tire:-)
Tell you what... I bought mine two weeks ago. I did not go with ABS. This bike is my first sport bike and can I tell you I already need knee pads. It is smooth and always sticks to the ground.... I hit 160 with out even blinking and put close to 1200k in two weekends... I cant get off of it!
Only down side is you have to cut the fairings to put sliders... I have not got to that yet.
ABS stands for anti-lock braking system. if you have ABS and grab your brakes, they won't lock up, if you don't have it, your tires can lock up and you might crash.
@iriekid15 sorry for the douch answer from bikeland. ABS means when you squeeze hard on the brakes your wheels wont lock up (skidding). If you dont have abs on your bike your wheels are prone to locking up under hard braking.
the guy who says he's 5'5" and it's perfect hasn't been on a lot of bikes...you really sit higher on the CBR 600RR than a lot of other bikes -like the Ninja 250R, 500R and 650R (i've owned all three). it's probably not too high for someone that height, but definitely isn't made for a short rider. the best way to see is go to the dealer and sit on bikes. make sure both of your feet sit flat on the ground

Now, we'll take a run at the sand or water from 60mph and both do a panic stop. If you can out brake the ABS bike on your old sack of shit, and NOT CRASH, then the money's yours.
Of course, if the ABS bike wins, you'll have to give me the $100,000 - as well I will require you to post a video of yourself in this topic, naked, wearing a sign that says "I'm a fucking moron"
I recently bought a cbr600rr and I debated the ABS. I really was worried about the added weight and the ABS pulsing associated with ABS. I did but the ABS model and I must say, wow. More importantly is to consider the difference between locking up the wheels in a car and on a bike.
In a car if you lock up the wheels, you can let off the brake and the result will be you just skid a little.
On a bike, most lockups usually mean you're going down.
chipmunkofdoom2 2 years ago 3
