Notice that the melody of the first four measures is pretty much identical to the Beatles' "Not A Second Time." This was the British B-side of "Get Off My Cloud." In the U.S. the B-side was "I'm Free." All great tunes.
This song is so far out of tune that it's in tune. I'm 2 years younger than Jagger and have been playing since I was 7 and had few hits under my belt. There is no way in hell that this can be covered EVER!
there was a film with dirk bogarde and john mills around this time , a western with bogarde as the sinister non violent villain, which raised a few eyebrows. later he would appear with mick jagger,intetresting.....
This IS the credo Mick lives by: It IS the singer, not the song. He, for all of his disgusting antics, has capitalized on this anthem to himself... and so it goes... And to wit, this 'anthem' is a treasure. Thank you for posting.

Had this on a B side of 'Get off of my cloud'. Both sides are now knackered due to overplay!!!

this song proves that the best stones songs are not the ones getting constantly hammered on the radio.

Plodding tempo, out-of-tune twelves strings and strident singing: Beautiful!! Wouldn't change a thing . . .

@excelsior544
Totally agree!
Is that Brian's falsetto on the last line of the final chorus?

Betting it's Keith.

Or Mick, actually. We've heard him climb that high on other tunes!
