What did you use to make this? (I assume you used a drawing tablet) I understand that I won't be able to draw like this even though I have the same tools, but it still seems that the program and tablet you use are very good. I'm trying to figure out what drawing tablet and drawing program I should get.

@boom911boom Really, what is with the icons in the top right? I haven't seen them before, that is why I didnt think it was photoshop. I have CS5, and I am starting to get into digital painting. So I know Photoshop has painting features, especially with the tablet.
Wow!! you're really good at this... um... can you teach me how to do it step by step, like what brush you use and all that, please???? I really wanna know how to do it, real bad. If you teach me, I am willing to subscribe to you
this song makes it look as if shes gonna close her eyes n smile...if you know what i mean...it's like a movie effect...more of a cliche really. LOL!!...love thi vid too. what software did you use to draw this?
I have the exact same problem. When i try to blend colours with the any of the tools it screws up. And blending it by painting it over and over and over is just painfully slow.
@jankuiper3422 remember, soft brushed for soft materials like skin, Hard brushed for things like metal. also turn the spacing down to about 15%. it takes up less ram and the color is easier to work with. Hope this helps.
i was hoping to get into digital art.. but quite frankly i am clueless of wer to begin... i was wondering what components i would need?could anyone help me out? appriciate it (:
You speak some truth about talent, few start out with it. But a lot of practice and a willingness to keep learning and improving definitely helps a lot. (Some newbs can and do get better.) If you're already good at drawing on paper or traditional painting, then you've definitely got a head start when moving to the digital side. BTW, in additon to vids like this OpenCanvas is good for picking up some tecniques because of the .wpe replay files. And the old 1.1b72 version is free.
if you're thinking about purchasing a digital art software, I would highly suggest Photoshop. It is a great, all-in-one application. you can draw, paint, retouch photos, restore and resize images, create animations, and create your own brushes. it is the industry standard and if you are a student you can purchase it for under $200. Corel Painter is 2nd and is used by professionals and individuals. I've been using it for just over a year now and it is quite an application but it has its flaws
I'm considering buying a Wacom tablet myself. There's the Bamboo Pen tablet for $70 and it comes with Corel Painter Essentials 4. The other I'm considering is the Bamboo Fun for $200 which comes with Corel Painter Essentials 4, Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, and Nik Color Efex Pro 3. I want to be able to sketch and color in the sketches nicely. Should I really spend the extra $130 for the Photoshop Elements or would it just be a waste since I only want to sketch and color digitally?
I'm in the same boat. xD I want to get a Wacom tablet, but I only want to be able to make sketches like the one in the video and turn them into nice digital art through shading and colors. I'm not sure what tablet to get get because they come with different programs and I'm like O.O trying to figure out if I really need to spend extra money if there's a simple program I need instead. :P Digital art is confusing. xD
I mainly draw animals, but I'm currently trying to learn how to draw humans, and your work is now what inspires me =] In the middle of the video when you were only half done, I kept thinking, "How can they keep going? This is amazing! How could it possibly get better?" but you did make it better. Well done! =D
That was the best thing i have ever seen please post more that must have taken ages can u leve me a comment on my vids telling me how i can get good at drawing like that thank you that was just awsome.
lol dude, wow. that is awesome. It was actually easier to learn and understand than some of the videos posted by idrawgirls.
I have an intuos 3, i think its a 5x7. I want to learn to draw like this, but im not very good with the tablet. I understand proportions and everything, ive taken a few art classes in college too. I am much better with a large pad and some charcoal.
What can I do to get better with my tablet? What does it take to get to this level? How can I practice, what should i draw?
you learn to be as good as that by practice and lots of it and practice the same way you learned to work with charcoal. to get a hang of drawing with a tablet draw everything from still life to portraits and if you can't think of what to draw then doodle, mess around with things have FUN and soon you'll be drawing masterpieces :)
Can I make sketches like this with Corel Painter Essentials 4? Because I want to get a Wacom tablet and I want to be able to make sketches like this, but I don't know if I should spend more money to get the tablet with Photoshop Elements 7 or not. :P Any help?
corel painter essentials has the most importants tools (essentials tools). Sso, yes you can make sketchs like/better than this, depend on your abilities ;]
Thanks a lot! I've asked this on a ton of videos, but no one seems to really just answer the question. XD I just want to make sketches like this and color them in. So thank you! :D
thank you that helped but i hav a question...if you are painting the clothes and it goes over the skin(im using a mouse at the moment)is there a way to prevent that?and if you want to paint the background, is there a way to stop the paint going over the character??thanks
I know your post is old, but you can make a new layer and then put it UNDER the lineart layer. When you click on that layer, you can color it in whatever color you want, and then make more layers on top of the lineart and color from there.
also i forgot to post on my last comment what program should i use to train to be digital artist? i have photoshop but im thinking about some others ive seen including this one. anyone's opinion plz
I have a question that I've been wanting to ask for some time, I hope you can give me the answer! To make this digital art that I've been watching so much lately, do you use the mouse? Or a digital drawing pad that hooks up to your computer (not quite sure what it's called)? I'm a serious art student, and would like to go into digital art in college, and I'm wondering if it's necessary to get a digital drawing pad, or if the mouse is sufficient. Personally, the mouse seems a lot harder...
uh to answer your question its called a tablet and to get the same results and have pressure sensitivity i recommend bamboo tablet and photoshop(photoshop for the sensitivity

Absolutely beautiful. It's a very strong expression you achieve with her faint smile and somewhat squinched eyes, I'm very impressed. Hopefully you'll make a sequel, I can't wait to see the finished picture. Thank you.
