I was originally going to roll a sith inquisitor but after watching the eternity vault video I was blown away at how awesome the juggernaut warrior was.
@DJuron96 I'm not a graphics person. I know those are cgi, I rather have a game with good gameplay than some awesome graphics that has crappy gameplay.
@RespawnM: I didn't say that lightsabers should be updated for this game. I just am pointing out that not one game yet has made lightsabers act as they should. And if guns could in fact two shot you, yeah, why not. But like lightsabers, they are also supposed to one shot you. FPS has nothing to do with this, as it is not a first person shooter. My biggest disappointing feature about this game is that like other Star Wars games, your lightsaber isn't a lightsaber, it's a glowy-stick. If I hit you with a lightsaber, you'd lose that body part, not flinch then continue swinging.

Wait, at San Diego Comic Con they showed the upper class speeders for the "first time", but you can see it at 1:14 in this video... A whole year earlier... That made me laugh. :P
no you really can, i seen vids on there site where you can loot dead enemies and some have lightsabers if there sith/jedi in a sith warrior vid he killed a jedi, and then got his saber and then wielded 2 and he was not even an advanced class
@TheMartialartsJedi Yes but Sith Warriors may weild single and two single bladed lightsabers. If that had been double bladed he would have had to have been an inquisitor. Also just because a Sith Juggernaut can weild two sabers like a marauder dosn't mean he can use all his juggernaut abilities with them.
i think basically, you can wield what you want, but if you use something your not skilled with then you cant really do much with it.
example jedi guardian expert with single saber, but uses a double blade but doesn't have skills with it, just simple strikes.
i have played other MMO's and they have all worked like, that you use what you want, but if you dont have skills for that item it doesn't mean you cant use it, but your rubbish with it.

Somewhat true, but I'm talking about good and evil in general as a reference that also applies to the Jedi (and anyone in the SW universe. There is NEVER a time where everyone is "good" (also the good and evil thing depends on your point of view, you may do something you think is good, but I may see it as evil).

@Accisma Ya they've really learned to implement the two together well. Whats really great is that KotOR already had a lot of MMO elements and so implementing those elements should prove easier than if they hadn't already made a cool, MMO style combat system already. I sure as hell enjoyed hackin ppl down in KoTOR and SWTOR just looks like a polished version of KoTOR's combat system which would be nice.
@Accisma I'd hav to say gameplay>story because the soul purpose of playing a video game is to PLAY it. Those who are more captured by story have movies, magazines, newspapers, comics, and books to satisfy their "story" hunger while gamers have to rely on videogames for gameplay. While story is definitely very important, gameplay is what really decides whether or not someone is going to finish a game, or throw their controller down in frustration/boredom. TBH the well spoken voice works imo cuz sith arent stupid, just evil. Anyone with any voice type can be a sith so long as they follow their ways so in reality, there is no specific type of voice he should have beyond sounding a bit menacing which he pulls off.
@Accisma That is usually (gameplay vs story) a matter of a gamer's personal taste than a concrete fact, so I can't argue that story isn't higher up on some lists than gameplay.
Unfortunately, you may wind up being disappointed with the gameplay in the end. It happens sometimes. However, some of the things I've heard, and seen in demos, suggests more depth. Things like ranged mobs taking cover, or melee mobs trying to flank you. This game also has no auto-click, which changes things a bit.
Wow @amburka im with you mate. I personally dont even see the issue with the graphics.. they're alright anyway.. and comparing this to wow is just stupid, I play wow and it bores me. I'm certain that the rich, FULLY voiced, swtor will be just as interesting, i noticed a lot of people going on about wows lore, different game, different developers, different story and the graphics are better than wows to so yeah, get over it already lol
Oh man... I wish they would make a trailer for my class, the Smuggler! I could just imagine how it plays out, some suave guy (though I'd play as a girl of course) flirting with a Jedi or Sith (what; they're not picky!), and as soon as trouble starts, the Smuggler's whipping out his blaster... and running away as he's shooting behind him!!! @EbonMaster: LOL. No, silly! The Smuggler (while admittedly engaging in questionable ethics and "projects") only take jobs anf such from the Republic side. While they don't really fight FOR the Republic, they fight to have their own freedoms (and the right to smuggle! XD) and the Empire is too controlling for their tastes/ Some Smugglers might do that, but most won't go against their better judgements and do dealings with the Empire. The Smuggler's a Republic-identified Class. :)

Stake holders in EA are looking at this game with much anticipation. EA has dumped sooooo much money in this game that it has to be accessible to even low end systems. This game needs 2 million subs at launch just to break even with the insane amount of voice actors hired and story written. People seem to be crying about graphics, but if that's a deal breaker for you then I guess I won't see you out there. My biggest prob is the stiff looking combat. It looks like Kotor and that combat suck
Now we've seen alot of new content out over the long months of waiting for this game. Just the amount of content you know its gonna take awhile. But there is one thing that puts up the warning signs in my head. So far it seems like this game is mostly focused on the sith and the history/story's behind them. I'm most likely just getting weary about reading the word "sith" over and over. However Bioware may want to give us a little more news on everything else rather then just sith sith sith.

I have 1 question here,300 years before SWTOR we saw very clearly that in the galaxy there were only less than 5 jedis left in the entire system,how did the order rise,florish and become strong inuf to defeat the well orginized sith empire having in mind those facts mentioned before.
well dont forget kotor 2, the official story for that is the lightside ending, the sith lords die yes? and the other true sith were somewhere else in the galaxy preparing for war they didnt even have an empire yet, during that time the jedi order was slowly brought back up, more people were trained as jedi and so on, they were no sith around to stop them.

I honestly think the graphics are good. If you guys would do research you would see the BioWare intentionally did not do the realistic graphics.. they could if they wanted look at DA:O and ME2. The point is that "realistic" graphics age the game too fast because newer games will always look better they decided to go on a unique style to give TOR its own feel. You don't play a BW game for graphics anyway or a MMO either look at WoW their graphics are "cartoon-esque" and it dominates the market.
If by unique feel, you mean Clone Wars series look alike. Then yeah, you got it spot on. SWG had better graphics then this game. It looks so crappy and the raccoon eyes over the sith? It doesn't even look cool, it's fucking stupid.
I like Bioware as much as the next guy... but they're fucking up this game. If I wanted to re-texture and skin Star Wars in WoW, it'd be the same damn game as this.
@MKER2 First of all one of the main reasons WoW was a big success was because of the cartoonish graphics. In other words the less demanding the game the more people can play it. And last time i checked WoW isn't fully voice-over. Time and time again its been proven gameplay > graphics. Just look at Age Of Conan. If the grphics bother you so much still just don't play it.
Well in case you didn't notice. All of the Warcraft games are in a cartoonish style, so at least they kept their own style. People with $500.00 computers can play Age of Conan. As for gameplay... the gameplay looks exactly like every other MMO, what is honestly so different in this game that other mmo's haven't done? Synchronized combat animations is no need to get a jiffy over either.
@MKER2 Have you been keeping up to date on SWTOR? Doesn't sound like it. For starters we can't really judge gameplay seeing as how they aren't even in beta yet and next to nothing has been released on gameplay. As to whats so different from other MMOs. Mainly its STORY. They say decisions you make will affect your game later. They have companion characters that you can develop a friendship, hatred or romantic relationship with.
Look, i'm not doubting Bioware's ability for story. But World of Warcraft had just as much lore. I guess some people don't even read any of the quests. Who really gives a shit about companion character friendships? At least in an MMO, it's not like it'll matter that much once the guide comes out for it.
It's a monthly pay for a single player game with over-sized shoulder pads and crappy looking gameplay. Who knows, I might be wrong, but I really doubt it. EA is retarded.

@Bashallequally if it's a highly stylized and well done cartoon/quality texture mix. Then the game ages MUCH slower. When they focus on realism, it starts looking dated way faster, imo this kind of style is more futureproof.

First and foremost on your mind, as a legitimate gamer, has to be gameplay and story, in that order. If the gameplay and story are there, you have a good game. Gameplay remains to be seen fully, but Bioware making a game with an excellent story is one of the constants in life - like the sun rising and setting every day.

Will my armor determine how much saber damage I do? Or how much blaster pew pew I deflect? Do I have to grind 10 womp rats before I can get saber throw? Will I have to wait for a dune bantha boss to respawn before I can finish my quest? If Bioware's answer to this is yes, I'll keep an eyeout for a game that is creative and something refreshing.

Korriban is the birth-place and home of the Sith, and like all things in the Star Wars Universe, things tend to go full circle always, Jedi kill Sith, Sith kill Jedi, there is no balance or peace with the force, it's constant fighting, so the Sith returning to there birth-place or home? It's not weird, it's a place of great power, much darkside energy there.

There was always good when there was evil, but the host or the vessel in which it uses to deliver said acts in its name was not always Jedi or Sith, remember, there actually was a time in the Star Wars Universe that the Force was not used by Jedi, such as the Rakatans.
After the events on Tython, the dark jedi came to Korriban and settled there Order much time later, because of the planets strong dark side aura, it became the front for training.

@Accisma Ya they've really learned to implement the two together well. Whats really great is that KotOR already had a lot of MMO elements and so implementing those elements should prove easier than if they hadn't already made a cool, MMO style combat system already. I sure as hell enjoyed hackin ppl down in KoTOR and SWTOR just looks like a polished version of KoTOR's combat system which would be nice.

@Accisma I'd hav to say gameplay>story because the soul purpose of playing a video game is to PLAY it. Those who are more captured by story have movies, magazines, newspapers, comics, and books to satisfy their "story" hunger while gamers have to rely on videogames for gameplay. While story is definitely very important, gameplay is what really decides whether or not someone is going to finish a game, or throw their controller down in frustration/boredom. A game can hav no story n b fun: CS:S/SSB

TBH the well spoken voice works imo cuz sith arent stupid, just evil. Anyone with any voice type can be a sith so long as they follow their ways so in reality, there is no specific type of voice he should have beyond sounding a bit menacing which he pulls off.

@Accisma That is usually (gameplay vs story) a matter of a gamer's personal taste than a concrete fact, so I can't argue that story isn't higher up on some lists than gameplay.
Unfortunately, you may wind up being disappointed with the gameplay in the end. It happens sometimes. However, some of the things I've heard, and seen in demos, suggests more depth. Things like ranged mobs taking cover, or melee mobs trying to flank you. This game also has no auto-click, which changes things a bit.

Oh man... I wish they would make a trailer for my class, the Smuggler! I could just imagine how it plays out, some suave guy (though I'd play as a girl of course) flirting with a Jedi or Sith (what; they're not picky!), and as soon as trouble starts, the Smuggler's whipping out his blaster... and running away as he's shooting behind him!!! @EbonMaster: LOL. No, silly! The Smuggler (while admittedly engaging in questionable ethics and "projects") only take jobs anf such from the Republic side. While they don't really fight FOR the Republic, they fight to have their own freedoms (and the right to smuggle! XD) and the Empire is too controlling for their tastes/ Some Smugglers might do that, but most won't go against their better judgements and do dealings with the Empire. The Smuggler's a Republic-identified Class. :)

Stake holders in EA are looking at this game with much anticipation. EA has dumped sooooo much money in this game that it has to be accessible to even low end systems. This game needs 2 million subs at launch just to break even with the insane amount of voice actors hired and story written. People seem to be crying about graphics, but if that's a deal breaker for you then I guess I won't see you out there. My biggest prob is the stiff looking combat. It looks like Kotor and that combat suck

Now we've seen alot of new content out over the long months of waiting for this game. Just the amount of content you know its gonna take awhile. But there is one thing that puts up the warning signs in my head. So far it seems like this game is mostly focused on the sith and the history/story's behind them. I'm most likely just getting weary about reading the word "sith" over and over. However Bioware may want to give us a little more news on everything else rather then just sith sith sith.

well dont forget kotor 2, the official story for that is the lightside ending, the sith lords die yes? and the other true sith were somewhere else in the galaxy preparing for war they didnt even have an empire yet, during that time the jedi order was slowly brought back up, more people were trained as jedi and so on, they were no sith around to stop them.

I honestly think the graphics are good. If you guys would do research you would see the BioWare intentionally did not do the realistic graphics.. they could if they wanted look at DA:O and ME2. The point is that "realistic" graphics age the game too fast because newer games will always look better they decided to go on a unique style to give TOR its own feel. You don't play a BW game for graphics anyway or a MMO either look at WoW their graphics are "cartoon-esque" and it dominates the market.

@MKER2 First of all one of the main reasons WoW was a big success was because of the cartoonish graphics. In other words the less demanding the game the more people can play it. And last time i checked WoW isn't fully voice-over. Time and time again its been proven gameplay > graphics. Just look at Age Of Conan. If the grphics bother you so much still just don't play it.

Well in case you didn't notice. All of the Warcraft games are in a cartoonish style, so at least they kept their own style. People with $500.00 computers can play Age of Conan. As for gameplay... the gameplay looks exactly like every other MMO, what is honestly so different in this game that other mmo's haven't done? Synchronized combat animations is no need to get a jiffy over either.

@MKER2 Have you been keeping up to date on SWTOR? Doesn't sound like it. For starters we can't really judge gameplay seeing as how they aren't even in beta yet and next to nothing has been released on gameplay. As to whats so different from other MMOs. Mainly its STORY. They say decisions you make will affect your game later. They have companion characters that you can develop a friendship, hatred or romantic relationship with.

Look, i'm not doubting Bioware's ability for story. But World of Warcraft had just as much lore. I guess some people don't even read any of the quests. Who really gives a shit about companion character friendships? At least in an MMO, it's not like it'll matter that much once the guide comes out for it.
It's a monthly pay for a single player game with over-sized shoulder pads and crappy looking gameplay. Who knows, I might be wrong, but I really doubt it. EA is retarded.

Along with a stale and overdone setting, the only drive for gameplay is better gear or experience, where did the fun actually go? I have to grind gear for weeks on end to have fun? Oh joy.

First and foremost on your mind, as a legitimate gamer, has to be gameplay and story, in that order. If the gameplay and story are there, you have a good game. Gameplay remains to be seen fully, but Bioware making a game with an excellent story is one of the constants in life - like the sun rising and setting every day.
