  • Twin Peaks. Exactly the way we like it

  • @TheRejectedXXX I came up with an idea, while walking to the local T station to get to work. I live in East Boston and so it's kinda like being in a town in a city. It was very densely foggy on an autumn afternoon. ANd i came up with this idea about writing a story about two protagonists who go into a town located in a valley with their own goals. The fog brings out a lot of outlandish things and creatures. THat day i just wanted to go back hame and write it down. it wa sall i thought about.

  • THis along with David Lynch's other works was what inspired Silent Hill. i might watch Lynch's stuff, but i might not play Silent Hill unless if i i and the room are blessed by every religious diety from ever religion or at least the abrahamic religions.Call me a pussy, but that game freaks me out and yet i can hear call for me.

  • @codename617 In my restless dreams, I see that place....Twin Peaks....*ahem* I mean, Silent Hill.

  • @doggett21 You played it? I only watched a walkthrough. That was a scary tale with so many endings. That's what i like about japenese games. You choose your fate. you are not, destined. Anyways, wanna hear about something kinda related to Twin Peaks and Silent HIll?

  • Wow, ABC made that.

  • @SuperIlluminaughty the way i see it, networks dont make anything. they just promo shows and run them. it's the production companys and the writers/producers/directers and of coures a good cast that makes a show. Abc is just a label like Fox and NBC.

  • Twin Peaks definitely got screwed over, but I'm not sure Lynch and company really had the desire to take it the distance. I'm sure they new by season 7 people would have been asking more and more questions which they never intended to answer. It would have probably gone downhill with stupid subplots about time-travel, alternate universes and protecting secret caves. All of that original writing would be Lost in the fog of a shitty show. What would be the point then. It's all for the best.

  • @GenoPeppino I see what you did there.

  • @GenoPeppino I agree with you there. The 2nd part of the second season got a bit too weird, perhaps even for Mr. Lynch himself..

  • best tv show ever , i buy it today for me on dvd

  • I killed Laura Palmer.

  • I could overdose on nostalgia!!!

  • "It's like I'm have the most wonderful dream and the most terrible nightmare all at once."

That's what it says when you look up "David Lynch" in the dictionary.

  • By far, Twin Peaks was one of the most unusual TV Shows I've ever seen. It haunted me. It amazed me. 21 years later, its effects can still be felt...from Pete Martell's "She's dead!" to Cooper's "How's Annie?"

Laura Palmer said that she would see Cooper again in "25 years".

That was in 1990. I wonder what will happen in 2015?

  • @CaptKundalini Let's rally and convince David Lynch about this! You can reach him at his twitter account; he's active there: twitter @DAVID_LYNCH

  • @harmoniumkane I'm way ahead of you.

Hey, the other day I told an old friend of mine about the Black Lodge. He completely bought it.

  • @CaptKundalini Talk backwards. That's a selling point.

  • name of the song at 0:16?

  • @kallemick

this is Audrey's dance, 3rd track on the soundtrack CD. I love it :-)

  • @hunisvan okay thanks alot i thought it was "freshly squeezed" so i downloaded the wrong one from itunes.......

  • anyone who knows the name of the music at the beginning? (think it was after the guy said "shes dead")

  • She's dead........wrapped in plastic!

terrific line for a TV intro! LOL

  • Thumbs up if Alan Wake brought you here!!!

  • It's been 20 years since it went of air.

The series end up too fast. But still, it's one of the best shows.

  • Isn't twin peaks a euphemism for breasts?

  • @goodtwitch nah... more like erect nipples.

  • @goodtwitch today it might be but back then it problably wasnt

  • Angelo Badalamenti-Audrey`s Dance OST

  • im watching this because of Psych, havent seen it before, but it seems good

  • I 4EVER LUV "TWIN PEAK^S & DAVID LYNCH & JENNIFER TOO- I HEART AUDREY HORNE!!!!!!!" XO ;>

  • man, seeing this makes me wants to watch the entire thing again, for like the 6th time lol *reaches for gold box*

  • I fuck'in fell in love with this show!

  • Okay, I need to get my act together and finish watching the second season. And the movie. And the pilot (I own a copy).

    Twin Peaks FTW!

  • Such a goddamn shame that ABC fucked around with the format by moving it, allowing the ratings to drop and eventually lose out. Such a waste.

  • Imagine Dale Cooper in "The Wire".

  • the owls are not what they seem

  • She's dead, wrap in plastic

  • @Bertinlag iconic slogan!

  • @MDkid1 yeah, it´s very cool

  • @KRAFTWERK2K6 hey at lest it had one of the most creepy and scariest endings to a TV show.

  • respect to the one who edited these promos back then. They are awesome :)

this show should have never been canceled and could have run for another 2 more seasons imo. So many awesome characters, a very good setup, excellent humor and a great performance by everyone of the cast.

Canceling this show was ABCs biggest misstake EVER!!

  • I'm 16 and I love this show, think it goes downhill slightly after they find out who killed Laura though.

  • @Cryer24597 I started watching TP in 2008 (now I am 17) and I think it gets just as exciting after the murder is solved. Love supernatural and weird things, Lynch's a genious. And you should se Fire Walk With Me, if you haven't ofc :)

  • I used to beg my mom to let me stay up and watch this show. And when she wouldn't let me? I'd sneak and watch it anyway. There has never been another show quite like Twin Peaks, and likely never will be again.

  • I thought - next criminal-snail but... after a few parts I discover IT ! David Lynch is genius ... next after me of course.

  • Thanks for posting these! If you have any more of these (especially from Season 2), by all means, please put 'em up!

  • not only a great show, it introduced me for my übercool coffee-order line; "one cup of coffee. black as midnight on a moonless night"

  • Hey, I wrote and produced these. How did you get the untagged version? Do I know you?

  • @babalootie I checked your channel... and I don't believe you...

  • What's a channel? Yes, I did these spots.

  • In fact, if you want to transfer the rest of them, I have them all on D2. There were about 100 different versions in all.

  • God i remember that old ABC graphics. i must have been 5 years old at the time lol.

  • Probably the coolest thing is that Lynch and Frost never wanted to solved the mystery, which if you think about it is very daring. Of course, audiences would have probably revolted...

  • 20 years ago today! Happy 20th Birthday, Twin Peaks!!!!

  • Un grand merci pour le partage =D

  • This promo is filled with secrets.

  • "Damn good coffee!! And HOT!"

  • Comment removed

  • Of course there is!

  • New Shoes

  • That gum you like is coming back in style.

  • "Hows Annie...!!! "

  • Twin Peaks was the greatest...fully pissed that ABC killed it before they could give it a proper ending. They left us hanging...

  • this film has its own magic

  • you're right...

  • the greatest...

  • someone hit the tracking button!

  • Gotta love Twin Peaks, im 15 and am watching all the episodes atm. Watching 4-6 a day, hehe.

Love it, Dale Cooper gotta be the coolest cop/FBI agent on the planet.

  • @Gufberg wow!

  • All that promotion and acclaim for this great show, but ABC buried it in bad time slots--first opposite Cheers, then on Saturday nights. The last episode ran up against the equally strange Northern Exposure. What a shame.

  • So very true. I can also remember an interview that the show's creators gave where they said they also had a hard time keeping their audience after Laura Palmer's murder was solved - they believed people lost interest after that, and that it was harder to find more intriguing plot twists for the show because her murder had been solved. Such a shame...

  • @SellawEvets What's really a shame is that there are season 3 episodes that were completed and never released. instead we were left with the mad cliffhanger at the end of s2.

  • @SellawEvets You have to put something up against Cheers. I think it shows how much faith the network had in the show.

  • yo se quien mato a laura... jiji..

  • is the twin peaks commercial that was inspired by the wizard of oz available on youtube?

  • I am looking for it as well...

  • thank you. your efforts are greatly appreciated. i haven't seen it since about 1990 or '91.

  • MAN! What did you record this on, Beta?

  • actually, betamax had better video fidelity than vhs because the tape was wider. beta was the standard for news broadcasts up until the digital age, for instance. its downfall in the consumer market was that the cassettes couldn't be as long so many feature length releases had to be split over two tapes. this concludes another useless factoid PSA.

  • Even though Beta had a better video quality than VHS, it's the quality of the heads that determine the picture you eventually see. My Dad's Beta's heads are all screwed up.

  • how many promo about twin peaks

  • Twin Peaks will always remind me of my Sophomore year in High School. I remember all the brief mania. Everyone and their mother was talking about Peaks. Then - poof. Gone.

Most of us knew it was dead out of the gate, but we enjoyed the ride while it lasted.

I still hold a grudge towards ABC to this very day. And I also have my tape from when it first aired, too. The sticker still even has the 04/08/90 air date on it. The audio crapped out, over the years.

  • I remember seeing this show with my sister. We cuddled all night. It was a magical first date

  • you dated your sister? sicko!

  • Looking at that last promo, I have no idea why ABC treated Twin Peaks so poorly, especially since it's their falt ratings went down and the show had more than enough potential to continue (see last few episodes).

  • Executives love to meddle. Countless tv shows and movies have ended up either less than they could have been, or trashed due to their interference. There's a reason why the creative people are the ones making the shows, but don't try to explain that to an ego maniac in an expensive suit.

Lynch and Frost never intended to reveal the identity of Laura's killer so soon. That was a network demand. Idiots.

  • My goodness, how much has the social climate changed since then? Can you imagine regular David Lynch on network TV now? So sad that creativity and originality aren't valued any more. It's all reality TV and formulaic crime drama. How I wish it were 1990 again.

  • I think in general, TV has become a lot more creative, original and even cinematic in the last few years. Take a look at Lost, Carnivale, Battlestar Galactica,... none of these shows could have been made 10 years ago. Twin Peaks opened up the way, and the climate has improved since then.

  • "I think in general, TV has become a lot more creative, original and even cinematic in the last few years."

There have been a few standout new shows, like Battlestar Galactica. But I think television as a whole has really gone down hill. Music is worse. It's like the entertainment industry is running out of ideas. For a good example of what I'm talking about, try watching the new Knight Rider. Oi!

  • But the original Knight Rider was just funny! :P I mean, Hasselhoff. *giggle* Come one.

There have been more than a few standouts: BSG, Carnivale, Firefly, Farscape, Buffy, Angel, The Inside, The West Wing, Torchwood. And Twin Peaks is the only older show I've found with the evident creativity to rival any of these.

  • oh man I loved that show, the next day me and all my friends were all giddy over it. It was just so frustrating because how could there be a mystery when that other girl on the bridge saw everything!!! But of course she didn't speak anymore. hehe GENIUS!!!!

  • This was an amazing show. To bad I was 8 when this show was on. Luckily I saw it a year ago and fell in love. I iwsh they had more shows like this. BTW Have you SEEN lost highway?? That is another amazing lynch masterpiece

  • getting all giddy like it's coming on Next. lol

  • lady with the log :D who killed her finally ???

  • Nobody? o.o

  • laura i mean

  • Thank you for this flashback God what a time in my life

  • Why, ginafritz52, what the hell happened?

  • I think she was killed that year. Yes, now I remember. It was like the most beautiful dream and the most terrible at once. Call it what you want, How about a flash back? Only the log knows for sure.

  • lol

  • wow I love this! this was the best show ever made! so f'n brilliant. I miss that world!

  • Best serial television ever. Gold Box DVD set is worth every penny and every hour spent watching and re-watching.

  • everybody get the gold box edition it has the promos, plus the lucy bumpers and recordings from the twin peaks 1900 hotline... it's awesome

  • Man i wish they wouldn't have revealed Lauras killer until they were ready to end the series. I could have went on for 5 more years. It looks like shows such as Lost learned from TP mistake.

  • Lost is similar to Twin Peaks? I might have to check out Lost then.

  • Yeah, you can clearly see that Lost borrowed a few elements from Twin Peaks, but it's a lot different.

Personally I prefer TP but there's almost nothing that can even reach the heights that TP reached

  • lynch didnt want to solve it but the network

idiots made him do it fro ratings so stupid.

no wonder why he ended up not wanting to work on the show after that

  • thank you so much for posting this. this takes me back.

GET THE GOLD EDITION. ITS WORTH IT

  • good pormo

  • I'm in the mood for a piece of cherry pie...God I miss this show!!!!

  • best fiction ever

    masterpiece

  • hatayim bu diziye,kahrolsun kurtler,kahrolsun amerika

  • "ABC is starting to look more an more like the network of the nineties." Man, putting that quote there makes them seem even stupider for cancelling the show, in retrospect. What a bunch of morons and half-wits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells.

  • I honestly think this show improved the country. It opened up the possibility for new avenues of thinking. Particularily for people who did nothing but watch tv. I mean you had these unreflective people suddenly worried about what the black lodge meant. This outward reflection make them inwardly reflective.

  • hey cool! thanks :) would you have a copy of the spot where Cooper wakes from a dream, dorothy of Oz style, telling the Log Lady et al that he had a bad dream that they all went to a saturday slot?

  • It's in the Definitive Gold Box Edition. I recommend seeking it out. Worth every penny!

  • Definetely, ABC rules ... :P

  • THank you for adding this!

  • something veryy good. i miss this..

  • Ironic how they build up the show with pressing clippings about how amazing ABC is, then they move season 2 to a death slot and cancel it despite plans for a 3rd season.

  • Networks fear any show that is original or goes outside the norm ( poorly written sitcoms, etc.) Twin Peaks is a prime example of this fear. What a shame.

  • those were the days of good tv.

  • Truer words were never spoken!

  • kickass!

  • good!

    thanks for share it!
