yeh. Japs known "Autobots" as subgroups (which all of them are Car Robots, or having alt mode as supercars). not the whole faction (which they called "Cybertron")

That explains why Ultra Magnus looks like Optimus Prime and had a shell armor in the first place. So odd that he is seen that way in the new comics.

Yeah - Dreamwave explained it away, I think, by taking a page from RID's book and saying that in their universe Magnus was Prime's brother.

Yep, I sure remember that RID episode of Prime and Magnus as brothers. Hasbro should had made the toy as one character instead of two.
