The lag is probably down to your pc/video card.  Have you tried it on different machines?

Are you using an actual Wacom tablet for the innards? That looks like a lot more lag than what I've ever seen on a Wacom, but I've also only ever used the tablet off to the side so maybe without the direct interface I don't notice the lag so much.

I'm so interested in doing this myself, but I'm kind of scared to. I've never messed with the guts of a monitor before. :s

Would you mind telling me, what size tablet you're using, and what brand screen? It would be a big help :)
