i find it pretty funny that even the bill lawrence himself doesnt remember that he made an appearence in the series even before season 8. he was in "My Best Friend's Baby's Baby And My Baby's Baby" when Elliot came out after Carla's C-section and tells them about Izzy being in the NICU. Hes sitting on a couch in the background, his scene is quickly shown but you can easily see him.
