the defence always wants to stop you at the blue line, so you got 2 choices, drive wide or take a shot. If he skates too far back he will just take a shot in the shin pads or screen his own goalie.

another option is to dump the puck into the offensive zone behind the net if you have pressure before you get into the offensive zone but dont be afraid to get hit

I'm a good player, but I do not think I get open well enough for my teammate who is carrying the puck to pass to.
