The VITAL human performances are dislocated in their presentation-- only running to and fro, bowing-incircling-carrying placards. Its rather the all-so colorful props that is doing the tricks. this is the result of copying and incorporating the best of the other festivals in the country. And they seem to lose their IDENTITY. also an OVERNIGHT SENSATION.
Buyogan is a festival of colorful placards with human performers endlessly running there and then always hiding at the back of their props. Human performers are dislocated.

We cannot say easily that they're AMAZING! As a festival dancer, my experiences on participating Festivals were broad enough to explain that, BEAUTY is not the only focus on judging, but PRIMARILY, MISTAKES!!

oh my god!!! they are really good!!! i watch aliwan last year before i went abroad, buyogan got runner up place only, now they win the title!! i just thought that last year's aliwan, its buyogan vs sinulog vs dinagyang!! now abuyog conquers all!! mabuhay mga bisaya!!!!! lmao but i hope sinulog festival will be back next years competetion. god bless y'all...

according to my frien na member ng buyogan, selection ng ibat ibang school from elemantary level to college. matindi ang screening kaya lahat cla magagaling at professional.
i was a member before during my high school days pero now dito na ako nagwowork sa DUBAI. kaya ganun ko ka mahal ang Buyogan.
infact i was there in Aliwan from the start till the end. Pag katapos mag perform lahat ng contingent from aliw to Luneta Grandstand, i hve no doubt na Buyogan ang mag champion at di ako nag kamali. sa second at third place lang ako nag kamali ang choice ko ay ang DINAGYANG then third ang KASAG, kaso nag kabaliktad lang. Pero ang masasabi ko lahat cla deserving.

sad to say props are one of the key factors in winning festivals like aliwan, Abuyog has good dance routines and props were just there to spice up the whole performance.Its not all about energy, its also about synchronicity and over-all impact. I think yan ang kulang sa dinagyang they all have their headbanging dancesteps pero wla silang synchronicity and surprises.

Although ur steppings was so synchronized and solid yet its not so effective to make your dance an amazing performance!! the flow of your dance was not so smooth and clear,, LIKE THE BUYOGAN, it was so clear.

We cannot say easily that they're AMAZING! As a festival dancer, my experiences on participating Festivals were broad enough to explain that, BEAUTY is not the only focus on judging, but PRIMARILY, MISTAKES!!

according to my frien na member ng buyogan, selection ng ibat ibang school from elemantary level to college. matindi ang screening kaya lahat cla magagaling at professional.
i was a member before during my high school days pero now dito na ako nagwowork sa DUBAI. kaya ganun ko ka mahal ang Buyogan.

infact i was there in Aliwan from the start till the end. Pag katapos mag perform lahat ng contingent from aliw to Luneta Grandstand, i hve no doubt na Buyogan ang mag champion at di ako nag kamali. sa second at third place lang ako nag kamali ang choice ko ay ang DINAGYANG then third ang KASAG, kaso nag kabaliktad lang. Pero ang masasabi ko lahat cla deserving.

ILONGGO never loose without an EXCUSE. Dati nanalo ang CEBU SINULOG over DINAGYANG sinabi, kesho may DOT secretary kaya nanalo. Ngayon naman nanalo ang LEYTE kesho dinaan sa props kaya nanalo. Cant u just accept defeat humbly and try ur next next time? Every contest has a winner and a looser kaya cguro pinaglalaruan kayo nang tadhana at hindi na kayo nananalo kasi hindi niyo matanggap ang pagkatalo. sad to say props are one of the key factors in winning festivals like aliwan, Abuyog has good dance routines and props were just there to spice up the whole performance.Its not all about energy, its also about synchronicity and over-all impact. I think yan ang kulang sa dinagyang they all have their headbanging dancesteps pero wla silang synchronicity and surprises.

i would like to recommend everyone to watch a much nicer shot of the video. .. try searching "buyugan sa aliwan 2009 performance (mash-up)"
some may have doubts on the performance of the tribe since the video above is not clear. . (he holder of the cam must be an amateur. . ). . .but try watching the recommended video and for sure you would likely appreciate the performance. .

dinagyang!!!! comments ko lang: mas lamang ang energy nyo kaysa sa BUYOGAn pero kulang ng pampaWOW sa audience and specially to the judges. make it more amazing like wat d BUYOGAN did! the impact of their props and most of all of their steppings was so great.... Although ur steppings was so synchronized and solid yet its not so effective to make your dance an amazing performance!! the flow of your dance was not so smooth and clear,, LIKE THE BUYOGAN, it was so clear.

haitz.... yung mga nang lalait sa buyogan...as if i know na impress at na amaze din kayuh... watever to all of you.. kahit anu pa ang sabihin nyu sa festival na ito, kahit pa pareho nag costume.. the routine and the story is still UNIQUE.. no matter din ang choreographer.. kahit yung pinaka magaling na choreo if yung mga dancer chaka..ang habul dito kung panu nila na amaze ang audience at judges... its the performance... STILL BUYOGAN IS THE CROWD FAVORITE DURING THE SINULOG AT ALIWAN..

i agree ako sa sinabi mo but sana mga kababayan HUWAG KAYONG MAGAGALIT AT SISIHIN ANG TAGA CEBU..ISIPIN nyo at dapat nyo malaman with out Cebu Drum and bugle corps HINDI mananalo ang leyte,hindi lang yan watch out din sa mindanao at bohol.Umasenso din ang DBC nila.Para malaman nyo w/o dbc patay din ang sayaw kahit gaano maganda ang sayaw nila wla pa rin...Goodluck sa lahat ng Aliwan dancers 2009..Peace kayo lahat
