  • I could listen to this guy all day.

  • @bingbashbosh1 I do lol.

  • Does any one know if he has mac10 or mac11 videos?

  • friends from outta town call me a redneck...and they think it insults me :) i <3 TN

  • Used by the vigilante motorcycle cops in the movie,"Magnum Force"(1973).

  • LOVE IT! many gun channels on youtube but hickok45 you the man...lov your vids.

  • I have this guns brother the Colt Trooper Special Mark III. Beautiful gun to fire with .38 or .357.

  • the colt boa is a sweet gun too

  • Where´s the silencer that David Soul used in the second Dirty Harry movie "Callahan"? ;)

  • I always wanted a Colt Python.

It wasn't until recently I learned that they were discontinued.

You'd think they at least would make them on small scale or something.

  • @0neDoomedSpaceMarine yeah they should do something like S&W's "classic revolver" series

  • Hickok, you need to play some smooth jazz in the background of all your close up videos...haha

  • man, i wish hickok was my grandfather... :(

  • i have one 4 inch barrel blue production date 1963 approximately 250 rounds thats it havent fired it in over 25 years but has been well cared for the gun has gone up so much in value it makes me not want to shoot it but i think next week take it to the range and shoot a box or two then maybe trade it in for 3 brand new GLOCKS time will tell later......

  • You should do a close up of your beautiful S&W Model 19

  • Which one should i buy, 4inch barrel or 6inch colt python of course. In my country its pretty hard to get permission to carry these kind of guns or any handguns, and i want just one gun no more. It will be for security and for occasional practice shooting. I dont want semi-auto pistol cause i had one in army and it misfired once in practice in situation that would cost my life cause i couldnt shoot. I want it to be easy to handle so im considering very much 4inch version, but does shorter barre

  • I know you said it a bunch already, but that's a pretty gun.

  • at 1:52 it sounds like you said sorry cocaine

  • i like the anaconda better :P but what i really want to watch you shoot is a taurus raging bull ;D

  • phh thankyouuu hickok! you remember one twice i asked you for colt python! thankyou for this video! :D

  • thumbs up if you want Colt to reproduce the Python !!

  • man can any one show me where to get one plzzzzzz ???

  • @sargon08 they stopped producing them a while ago so they are pretty rare and expensive because its so collectable

  • I dreamed of this gun today

  • Beatifull gun! :)

  • Definitely a fun gun to shoot, damn shame it's not made anymore :(

  • im a fan of old single action revolvers but this takes the biscuit. i luv it

  • what a waste of watermelon

  • wish some one would test fire ruger gp100 in3 4 6 in 357mag

  • Fired one of these this weekend and the single action on it was so amazing. It kills me inside to know I'll never be able to afford it

  • mr hickok, please help my country, in the UK if you had one of those babies, you'd be in jail automatically for 10 years

  • Dear Hickock45,

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    xmmh

  • i've never researched this gun, nor have i shot one.

Is it single, or double action?

  • @Skitzo520 This is double action but you can fire it in single action mode as well. hickok has a video up called Three Basic Handgun Types watch it it will clear up any confusion.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 congrats you fed the troll

  • @shadowsteel5 I don't know if hes a troll some people are just getting into guns and don't know the basics.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 Hickok said it was double action at least once in the video, DONT, FEED, TROLLS.

  • smoke coming out of the chamber at 1:40 looks awesome

  • All we need is a speed reloader! =D

  • Is this gun strong and more powerful compared to the glock 17 and 19? Thanks for answers

  • @Copglock As a standard, the Colt Python is chambered in .357 Magnum, and Glock 19 & 17 are chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum or 9mm, so yes, this gun is more powerful.

  • Thats one fast bloody revolver

  • I have a Colt Diamondback and interestingly enough the firing pin is on the hammer for it. Kinda funny how that works.

  • @DamianFinch Sucks, don't it? It's alright. I've been to Australia. Sydney, specifically. You guys have much better weather than we do. Today where I'm at ( South Arkansas) it was 102 degrees Fahrenheit and 70% humidity. It was miserable.

  • 8 cans have internet access...

  • Thats real gun pr0n ;) "well...I'm puttin the rooooound in" ;)

  • This is the Gun I actually had when I was at the Police Academy. In the old days I guess like other gun nuts, Traded, and traded the Python was just fine. At the time I felt that S&W had a better trigger. I than purchased a S&W model 19 4 inch 357, with target grips, hammer and trigger. The 19 was lighter than the model S&W 29.

When I left the department, they went with a S&W model 59 9mm automatic, prior to that we had to buy our own duty gun. I believe I had a S&W mdl10,Colt python S&W mdl 19

  • can you use a 308. on the python

  • YEAH..KILL THOSE CANS!!!

  • I'M taurus man myself

  • *Onyx*

  • Exellent review hickok45 ! good stuff,good stuff.

Heh,the camera always wan'ts to focus on the ground, kinda messes up the details when you're showing it off.

  • Firing pics on the hammer ore nice, but I do not find them superior to frame mounted pins. The only real advantage they have is ease of replacement...but then they are also easier to damage.

Frame mounted pins also allow for a firing pin block to be part of the gun which greatly increases safety when carrying a revolver...especially if on horseback or an ATV.

  • Very nice gun. I love my Colt Python and all of my Colt revolvers.

  • hickok45 can i ask you: do you prefer the S&W 686 or the Colt Python for a 357 revolver? and is the python still made? im sure either that or the anaconda was discontinued by colt...

  • How stupid are you people to think that herbertmoon11 is being serious?

  • I love his side comments between shots, lol!

  • MANGASM

  • .357 magnum is my favorite caliber

  • whenever i see a Colt Python i like to think of my grandfather :)i remember when he took me out shooting, that was actually the first centerfire handgun i ever shot! i was probably 12 or 13 at the time as you can imagine shooting a .357 Magnum was kind of a big deal for me. my gosh, what a nice looking revolver, i agree with you on the statement that it's the most beautiful double action ever made. to me it's kind of a classy firearm.

  • Will a 357 magnum MOST of the time put someone down in one shot? or would a 44 magnum or 45ACP be more preferable?

  • @bazookajoethethird .357 Magnum is more powerful than .45 ACP. I don't see why people care about putting someone down with 'one shot'. If someone is coming at you to harm or kill you, you're not going to shoot them once and wait to see what happens. You're probably going to empty the thing into them.

  • @Nater245689 True, you would not fire just one shot. But thanks for the info, i knew the 45 is larger than the 357 magnum. I knew the 357 has more energy behind it. I just was not sure on which would actually "stop" someone the easiest.

  • @bazookajoethethird I would say .357 Magnum, if only slightly. You're looking at 80-110 more foot-pounds with the .357. But I'd much rather carry a semi-auto and shot placement is a lot more important than how hard the bullet hits, so my defensive pistols are .45 ACP or 9mm.

  • Life is good.

  • ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. sexy

  • A classic and a beauty!

  • Black Ops ok i just had to say it

  • @herbertmoon11 Dude quit talking about cod on here its not as cool as Hickock45

  • @herbertmoon11 Kid, i`ll teach you something.

    1. Learn to speak english.

    2. Stop thinking that the best guns from Call od Duty are the best guns in real life

Not hating on CoD btw, but i really hate people that rate RL guns like CoD guns.

  • @MahBoiOrMyBoy for real, i was watching a video of a man shooting his M-14 full auto, and some kid told him "nice editing, but everyone knows m-14 can only shoot single fire" i laughed so damn hard.

  • @MahBoiOrMyBoy good comment! but a very nice weapon is the p-90 in games and in RL^^

what is a 'good' weapon? i think all these weapons i know have better and bader sides.. have a nice day :)

  • @MahBoiOrMyBoy true the f2000 in RL is acurate not sure about the recoild but it jams to much

  • @herbertmoon11 Learn REAL guns. k? ok.

  • @herbertmoon11 what?

  • @herbertmoon11 you are fucking stupid

  • @herbertmoon11 NOLOL THE OLYMPIA IS WAIY BETTUR NOOB. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT PROPARLY THE RANGE IS 1000K PLUS.

  • @herbertmoon11 wtf is wrong with you kid? are you retarded or something?

  • @herbertmoon11 stfu and go away please. thank you.

  • @herbertmoon11 Attention whore.

  • @herbertmoon11 So how is being homosexual going?

  • @herbertmoon11 real guns douchebag, stop playing CoD, its just melting your brain (if something is left)

  • @herbertmoon11 i laughed my ass off!! hahahahaha

  • Colt really needs to bring this back.

  • @IlliniEnginerd21 Naaah. Wouldn't be the same Colt... therefore not the same quality... just wouldn't be the same.

  • Python = sexiest gun around. Thank you for showing this one!

  • Very nice

  • i saw smoke

  • What do you do with the shell casings ?

  • @MrVelmont56 Reload

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1

yy not ammo but shell :D

  • @MrVelmont56 I'm a little confused with what you said. Reloading is when you take a piece of spent brass, and through a process make it back into shootable ammo.

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 i think he is talking about shotgun shells

  • @TheBassGuitarist1 Doubt it

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1

i dont speak good englisch but...shotgun shells, gun shells and rifle shells....is this much and what doing witch this :)

  • @MrVelmont56

Sell to scrap-heap or thrown in the trash ? ... :) i think u can understand now

  • @MrVelmont56 Yeah, people reload them and make them shootable. Not everyone does, but I know Hickok does.

  • @MrVelmont56 He uses them to reload. It is more cost affective than to always go out and purchase more ammo. Re-uses the shell casing, replaces the spent primer, adds gun powder and caps it off with a bullet. If he does not have the shell casing ("brass"), he would have to buy those and that is the most expensive part.

Note: He would Re-sizes the brass as it gets slightly stretched out from being used.

  • Will It Blend That is The Question.

  • i would like to meat you Mr.hichok45 one day but im in texas and so far as i know it would be kinda hard to get from here to there since i am 14

  • nice video, man your videos are always on the top!

  • wow, you're a great shot

  • this is the prettiest gun ever. I want one so bad, but I may have to steal one in order to get my hands on one. I wish they werent so expensive!

  • What I love about revolvers is the supreme reliability that they present in any situation. No matter how much money a semi-auto pistol costs or how well one is made, the chances of it jamming are still much more likely than a revolver.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow i was never really interested in revolvers until i watched this video and now i have to get this gun!!!!!!

  • I love the sounds the bullets make going into the cylinder

  • does this one have a shortened barrel or is it just me?

  • just beautiful , never changes hickock!

  • Hicock45 is the grand old man of shooting.

  • @Gollumz Go easy with the "old"!

  • how could someone not like this video

  • @NinjaManJames trolls are the one or someone that thought it was cod.

  • Colt great gun.

  • i just got back from Gatlinburg tennesse and i had some hickko45 withdraws

  • That smoke wafting sexily out of the cylinder after each shot... Jesus, that is a beautiful gun :')

  • That's probably the nicest looking revolver I've ever seen. Just a beautiful gun...

  • hey hickok45, just a thought but it would be pretty cool if you were able to do a vid on the entire colt snake series. I now it would probably be difficult to do, but i suppose its something to think about if you ever get the opportunity to borrow them :)

  • I have not seen a Colt Python in person, but IMO they are no better looking than a Smith. I think a lot of people (I'm not talking about you Hickok) get hung up by whose name is on it and what its worth, no matter the firearm, revolvers, semi-autos, rifles, shotguns, etc.

  • I got a nice one in my collection...need one to shoot now.

  • So sir, do you also own a colt anaconda?

  • 4" revolvers are my favorite barrel length. My uncle Steve had a 6" Colt Python with target grips(which I hated). The tolerances were very very tight and the finish looked like they polished the gun to a mirror before blueing it. Finnish was the best I've seen to this day on any firearm.

  • Nothing beats the sexiness of a revolver.

  • nice piece brother, Where in Tenn r u @? I'm in Shelbyville, Tn.

  • U NEED A SPEED RELOADER

  • @ethanotemo ... fuck off

  • Hickok45 Great video. Great gun Just a suggestion "Can you do a video on how to property aim a revolver/pistol? You are a great shot with a pistol/revovler.

  • good shootin tex

  • Hickok AS I said before you are the man...I was brought up a wheel gun man but you talked me into a Glock..I am more comfortable with the full frame glock 22 ..I am so happy with it that only pull the wheel guns out now and then.I brought a glock 22 and got a a lone wolf 9 mm barrel for it installed the extended mag release and slide release as well as installing the trigger bar which is amazing..All of my friends were so scared of Glocks until I did this and now 3 of them own them too..

  • @runninonempiy Sorry I did not have the room to finish. The point is since my Glock purchase my python and smith 357 were sold..Was not practical to own them all.Still have my Harrington & Richardson 929 6" I cant justify selling it for 300 to replace it with a WAY overpriced s&w 617..That Glock trigger is a little spongy if you will in comparison to my feel, pressure, click feeling of my wheel guns More mechanical if you will.whats your thoughts?

  • I never knew revolvers misfired! I learned something new today!

  • i wish colt would bring these back

  • Nice, Smith and Wesson Revolvers aren't exactly pretty, but some of the Taurus stuff looks pretty decent. Though I wouldn't mine having one of these for sure.

  • Wow Hickok, Another great vid sir! Not quite sure how you handle recoil so well in these firearms. Most people that shoot .357 Magnum, you see a lot of snap... Not with you. Great job.

  • Looks alot like a Colt King Cobra

  • i love the way the rounds just ssssliiiide into the chamber so smoothly, and end with a satisfying click.

  • Hey hickok, i want your advice on something. Should i get a rock river arms ar-15 model a4, or just a traditional bushmaster ar-15? both are affordable for me though i've heard some not so great reviews on the bushmaster, and some pretty nice ones on the rock river arms. I want advice from you know someone who has many more years of experience with firearms than me. thanks in advance.

  • Sweet looking revolver. Love those grips on it too!

  • 6 People wish they had a Colt Python. I do yeaaaaaa

  • If ever there was a revolver to do a closeup vid on, this is it! I've only shot one once and I fell in love!

  • hard question for ya - you get one pistol whaddya pick?

  • get justin bieber as a target please

  • @scouser96100 also your videos are awesome!

  • Nice gun.

  • where exactly are you located in tennessee

  • @partyboyperk just listen for the sound of automatic gunfire...;)

  • How do you stand to set outside and shoot in this heat? I can barely make it from the house to the shop without turning into a human tea pot. And its only 100 here. You guys were supposed to have it worse than us...

  • The barrel is ribbed...for *her* pleasure..!!

  • @BushidoDevildog ITS WAYNES WORLD, PARTY TIME, EXCELLENT!

  • I heard with extensive shooting(2000+) .357 rounds the python isnt really that good of a shooter, and that when people actually shot it instead of just mounting it in a box on a wall, the action wasnt as smooth as a gp100 or as solid as a 686?

  • Awesome!!!

  • I almost baught me on back in the 70s but the cost was over $600.00 so I had to pass. Wish now that i had came up with the extra money to get one. . well, a little too late now LOL . It is a good revolver. If I remember right . Starsky carried one on The Starskey and Hutch. TV show. But im Old most of your members wont remember that. TV show. JKW.

  • so why arent you a youtube partner ?

  • I'll take a Python over a S&W any day.

  • @swampshot ill take a smith and wesson 686 or 586 over a python any day more durable and smiths has a beautiful finish (like colts) as well... the 686 is built like a tank

  • @TheBassGuitarist1

smith 686 is that bright, newish steel, right? Yep, the smith 686 is very attractive.

  • @hUriah2nd yes sir

  • @swampshot I Agree, The smith's are pretty sweet no doubt. I love them also, But after having a python, there is no turning back :)

  • Comment removed

  • Best closeup video yet, IMHO!

An extraordinarliy intimate look at a superlative .357.

    Please use this format again.

  • @machineguntongue, I'm sure we will; we've already done over 30 of these close-ups. Check out the playlists.

  • @machineguntongue

it`s because you don`t want to watch him speaking?

  • this piece is just so gorgeous, no doubt

  • were you putting magnum or special rounds through it? because i follow another gun channel where the owner says he wont put anything through but specials since magnum rounds would wear more on the gun and they are apperantly hard to replace and harder to find original parts for.

  • Colt should go back to making the Python.
