I can't stand this anymore. The NHL has become ridiculous lately, and this season is just plain stupid. Since the Chara-Pacioretty hit, a lot has been said, but NOTHING is being done. They just don't care. I'm not sure what they are trying to prove, but they are NOT improving, that's for sure !

Weak call. The NHL is almost unwatchable anymore. Anyone who takes a big, clean hit has their teammates try to fight for them or tries to fight. No dives are ever called. Glencross gets a 5 and a game, where is the instigator penalty for a player coming over to try to start a fight after taking a clean hit.

@nurple12 Not sure if you know this. You appear to be unaware... But the penalty kicks already exist in hockey. They're just called penalty shots since, you know, the game of hockey is played with sticks and kicking the puck into the net intentionally is not allowed.

@ranndino I'll clear this up for you. Soccer is stigmatized as a "pussy" sport due to rampant diving. Coincidentally, one defining feature of soccer is the penalty kick. The allusion to a "penalty kick" in hockey, which would obviously be ridiculous in practice, is meant to draw a parallel between Ballard's "pussy" play and the game of soccer.

Funny that people say Glencross retaliated against Ballards crosscheck, and that's uncalled for. Ballard crosscheck to Glencross is in retaliation to Glencross rubbing him out along the boards at the start of the clip, is that uncalled for too?

A fine is a good punishment for this, and would have been for Ollie, this one looks like Curtis had intent to hit the face, Ollie's stick slid up and got the face.

@cddunlop clearly you forgot about Staal's beastly headshot on Stajan a few games back, not even a penalty called for a headshot which by new NHL rules should've been a call. Also Olli's hit was more dangerous in my opinion as it was from behind, im also a flames fan but im just pissed at the officiating overall this season, it's total bull shit.

@mystickirby I totally agree with you on the ref b.s. and I was not impressed with the Nhl's call on Stall. Again, no consistancy. It was a shoulder to the head. that was not north south. that looked alot east west. I was just talking about that with my brother two nights ago.
