The basic idea of my method is to over-ride that little voice that tells you everything is crap. That's what the "babbling over music" is about in my case. But I guess that's what you've got that bong for...

Pretty funny, but this can't be your creative process. The way I usually write music and lyrics is to babble non-sense, phonetic noises in an almost incessant flow over a piece of music until words and ideas start to form unconsciously.Kinda like this comment. Once we have a theme or a lyrical hook, we can write lyrics rationally. In a word: LEARN TO FREESTYLE; it makes writing lyrics so much easier.
