I like what's said here. But, they need to remember, WE NEED HEALTHCARE REFORM!!! I'm sick of the banks and ins. co.'s having free reign to screw Americans out of their hard earned money. We pay for membership, so we can pay a deductible, so we can still pay the dr's, and they can tell us what Dr we can see, what meds we can take, whether we need an MRI.... I thought robbery was illegal! This from one w/ a rare illness and would literally die w/out his meds.

The US government has been selling Treasuries into the Social Security Trust Fund since Reagan. Without stealing the payroll taxes, Clinton could not have balanced the budget. Social Security unfunded liability now stands at $14 trillion. Medicare at $74 trillion. Prescription drug (Bush) at $18 trillion. And how are we going to afford Obamacare?

Wrong! These two programs are not bankrupt and are not trillions of dollars in debt. Have you forgot when Clinton was in office the budget was balanced and there was a surplus? Have you forgot the 2000 debates between Bush and Gore where bush wanted to privatize part of social security(thank God he failed) and Gore kept asking him to put social security in a lock box? As for Medicare where is support from seniors or anyone to do away with that program? Either you are rich or you're an imbicile!

The trust fund only has Treasuries in it - IOUs from the government. $29B of which have to be cashed in this year. Had Bush privatized Social Security, maybe there would be money there for us to retire. Medicare is bankrupt according the the trustees.

Ask seniors how they feel about the fact that Medicare does not cover all expenses. A friend of mine has to pay $80,000 out of his own pocket for a recent operation. He'll tell you Medicare sucks! And let's not forget the fact the only 40% of doctors take Medicare making it difficult to find a doctor.

I agree that if it good for the american public then it should be good for them too. Why not let people who have insurance through their employer keep it and reward the companies who give a quality package to their employees a tax break and make a plan for those without coverage instead of forcing everyone to have an insurance package they don't want
