Fail. Not impressed. I'm writing a book that is inclusive of this event. Stupidly, I was hoping that by watching this video it was really going to be 'incisive'. I didn't realize I was going to be listening to such garbage and seeing such vapid imagery mixed in with the really old pictures. If I hit mute and just look at the pictures, I am still seeing the utter shameless disregard for one of the worst natural disasters to affect our country. SHAME on you!

I actually was enjoying this while doing some reading about this particular hurricane......until I got to the part where you mock the old ladies voice, its a shame you have a bit of talent but throw it away being cruel to so many that died traggic deaths! Im from New Orleans and have lived in Texas since Hurricane Katrina. There are so many things people dont know that goes on in Louisiana Politics. No, business is not conducted like the rest of the country-its mentality is not the same as the rest of the country. There is a tendency to do things the way THEY want to and will continue to do so until a magnificant piece of history is completely destroyed again. At least Galveston worked to save their city and helped to prevent another fiasco.

Raising Galveston Island was brilliant! And it was done with comparatively rudimentary tools. Too bad the powers that be didn't have the intelligence to rebuild New Orleans like Galveston was rebuilt. Instead they slapped another Band-Aid on the vulnerable city and started rebuilding. They will encounter another "Katrina" in the future (and probably reach back into a flawed recording of history and blame George W. Bush for not having the foresight to raise the city.)

comparing this to katrina is quite possibly the stupidest thing ive ever heard. nagin didnt spend the grant money sent for the levy's on the levy's. the people of katrina had warning and chances to leave, and buses which they could have left on. the people of 1900 had maybe a few hours warning and not nearly as sturdy homes as those in katrinas path. the only thing in common is they were both storms.
