Chi-town was bringing the house. New York played it. London promoted it. It was a connection with these 3 cities and house music. Without that connection, I wouldn't be such a house head. :D
@Renagade70: Don't forget Belgium aswell m8 in that line-up. Many young American dj's had their records brought out under R&S label and we had the FifthyFive, Boccacio and LaRocca who in the late 80's only played this music . Here in Belgium New Wave was replaced by New Beat which in its turn got transformed into House and Techno... I remember the Milk Bar in London though and ofc the Hacienda in Manchester...
Thanks for posting this on here. One of the best UK joints ever to be played on NYC stations such as the original Hot 97.1 FM(WQHT),98.7 Kiss FM(WRKS),and 107.5 FM(WBLS) during my senior year in high school. They even rocked it at the clubs that I attended(including 89.1 FM(WNYU).
I miss Caesers Outer Limits in Lemont. The Divine DJ-Team was the best. Bad Bill came down so did Silky Steve, Mr. Lee, Julian. Damn I can ALMOST remember those days, almost! K-HITS 104.3 needs to find those guys and get them back on a Sat for a couple hours and mix live!
so that's why I don't like techno~~ I instinctively knew that it was "gay music" techno would repalce people who play real instruments and those that can really sing~~ anyone caan repeat a hook over techno beats`~ thats waht the machin wants~` thank God there are those who are built to go that way~`
@Rob. I was just sharing my personal experience on when I discovered HOUSE Music here in LA. I started djing in 1984 and I only did str8 clubs and partys. It wasnt until late 87 that I started attending the gay clubs. My str8 friends were still stuck on Freestyle and Hip Hop and so were the str8 clubs I attended. Why were the gay clubs only accepting and spinnin HOUSE at the time? My brother would always inquire where I was hearing this HOUSE music from and I replied at Circus/Studio One.
Not sure what one idiot hit the dislike button, the dummy obviously doesn't know what the hell good techno/house music is. Detroit at that! This song still gets eternal love here in the city.
In celebration of my 25th yr djing (1984-2009)I will be posting the jams that made peeps rush to the dancefloor....Circa 1988. So if you been following my past posts you know I discovered Circus Disco in 1987. I came into the scene at a transitional ...point in LA. The HI-NRG sound was on it's way out and this new sound called HOUSE was being exposed in all the gay clubs. Before there was a DOC MARTIN or a STEVE LORIA there was this young 19 yr old kid FABIAN VANGELLI who was
@djerniepearl: HOUSE-MUSIC was, and is, played at straight clubs as well. Please don't associate HOUSE-MUSIC with just Gay people because that wouldn't be fair to the straight people. HOUSE-MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL.
