it is stainless steel or zink aloy? i have a chinese slingshot and say is stainless steel c304...... but i scrach it and is red beneath..... so i think is some kind of alloy

@mentallystressed Dankung does not sell the zinc pieces of junk. I recommend throwing it in the trash, it is dangerous. If a fork arm breaks, terrible thingsmay happen. No such danger with stainless steel.

Joerg, have you ever experimented with catapults that have the bands attached to the end of a single stick?

I've heard they're use in some places and I gave it a try , but I didn't seem a wonderful device.

Slingshot is considered to be toys in our culture, and toys are for kids.

It will be banned from commercial sales if it ever got designed beyond the power range of toys. No Chinese parent will tolerate kids to possess weapon let along buy for them. It is a guaranteed failure as a commercial project. Not every Chinese adult is as enthusiastic about exotic weapons as Ebe, and Ebe has designed a military graded sling shots which will be put to production for self entertainment.

I actually just arrived back from the East Coast Tournament in Alverton/PA. I did pretty good! Even hit the "gong", from 70 yards. I do admit that the target experts are way better than I am, but I hit a shoebox size target from 20 yards very cosistently.

Where can I find the 15 mm steel ball?

Ahem.. I do use lead for hunting I was going to use the 15 mm steel to do some velocity tests like Joerg does.

But after some time thinking about this. I believe its better I do the velocity tests with the ammo I will use for hunting. Thats I know what kind of actual power is being used against the actual prey in a hunting situation.

Hmmm more power with the wider band I dont agree, but accuracy is equally as deadly, for small game 9.5mm to 11mm steel will do the job just as well, as the chinese shooters have already proven. and from what I have seen the simple band attatchment method up to 8 strands can be attatched using different strengths of band making them very versatile.

Dankung slingshot Stainless Steel fits my hands fine. My next one will be the Titanium model. I use yellow spri flat bands on mine and the power and accuracy is far superior than anything american I have tried.

I have designed a slingshot fore Dankung (as a favor, no money involved). They may start a production run soon, I will present a sample this December. My design allows the traditional Chinese band sets and attachment, but also works with more powerful, thin and wide flat bands.

thanks . i have been curious about this product . i see that joerg pull band further back than dankung movie show thereby getting more power but i guess less accuracy ? shooting styles is of essence and for some enough power to apply in the field at ranges from 10 to perhaps 20 yards. also cant understand why small ammo isnt used what about 9mm lead or steel?.

I am just a strong guy, and I can pull this band set with ease. So I am still accurate. You loose accuracy when you overdo it, then you start shaking. Small ammo means very little power. Rubber is slow, you need heavy ammo to get beyond 30 Joules.

Tapering the tubes definitely gets more power out of the sling. I also set my sling up for a longer pull to get more power. I love flatband slingshots but these bands last so much longer and have more than enough power to get the job done.

Generally we use 12mm steel ball( 12mm is enough for small game hunting), 15 steel ball is big and expensive.

The tapered tubing and active flip shot style improve the performance, you may have a try. There are some videos demo how to do them.

You hand must be huge:) .

The warrior model fits my friend's hand from Canada very well.

Well, my hands are big but I can still find fitting gloves without problems! And the "Western" slingshots I tested so far fit my hands allright.

I tested the Warrior with the bands it came with, I am sure you can optimize a bit. But you won't ever reach the power of flat bands.

I like the 15 mm balls and test all of the commercial slingshots with them. Equal chances!

I agree flatbands are on a different level. Your reviews are fair and honest and that's why we are all here. These slings are just so adjustable and have so many band combos available, I would like to see people experiment and see what works for them. The dankung design is unbelievably simple and versatile.

Thank you for showing the world a dankung slingshot. The model you have is unfortunately one of the worst designs available. The traditional round steel models feel better and most are a little bit longer. I shoot powerful Thera band slings as well as dankung slingshots and I know that a properly set up dankung is one of the most powerful and accurate slingshot available. This style of band attachment is probably the most advanced design available.

I like the Chinese attachment very much and use it on many of my latest designs. Flat band slingshots do have a better performance, though. The round steel models may be a lot more comfortable, but it is very easy to make those at home from steel rods. That's why I wanted to get one of their "sheet metal cuts". And as I said, it is not a bad product! But I still think they need to make most of their models larger for the Western market.

I'm sure that you could make a round steel one in about 5 minutes, with you kind of skill. Wow your hands must be huge, I dwarf most people and my hands aren't that big.
