Interpretation was nice :) , I would have enjoyed a little more contrast in the themes as far as tempi. Work on the the arpeggios and altissimo, keep the back of your throat a little more open, it'll help out a lot. Keep the tongue light up in the upper register, i noticed a little difficult with some of the notes in the 3rd and last variation because of it. If you reaaally work on the tonguing on the higher register, you could pull of articulation in the arpeggios, which is the ideal way. ;)
@dkmarkdj Thank you for your honesty. Can you provide more details to improve this performance? Also, where are your videos? If you can criticize, then you can put something on for me to enjoy.
A solid performance. Some things to watch for though are: top register not speaking overly well - make sure you just blow and have adequate diaphragm support! Slight issues with the crispness of staccato - this also comes down to support and possibly an incorrect embouchure. Also, tension in the throat can cause both of these things, something hard to avoid during a performance. I would have also liked to hear some more 'light and shade' in regard to phrasing and dynamics. Great job overall!
I am not a clarinet player, but I know good sounds when I hear it. I think that your playing sounds great. But what do I know, I am just a guitar player. Keep up the great work.
Phrasing is a little wooden. Work for a more expanded dynamic range and for more variety in your tone colors. Also please taper the final notes of your phrases; playing them so monodynamic is not a good idea.
meglio che vada a suonare jazz questo qua

I did transcribe by ear, would not know how to reach Benda. Do you play clarinet? I haven't played for awhile.

Dude, Where did you get this cadenza? It was composed by François Benda... Does he know that you´re playing?

This is constructive criticism, I promise.
You're playing this too much like an etude.
It's an opera!

Not to be rude, but let the air flow man! You're a little choked on such a free spirited piece! It'll definately help you on crossing the breaks!

I assume you play clarinet? What school(s) have you attended? Studied with?

interesting cadenza...

Your high notes tended not to speak, or to be very flat...And there were a few articulation problems...Not bad, though.

Hello from France !
I also played this piece.
Very hard to play perfectly for non-professional musicians.
But good job all the way !

This was recorded last year, month of April, I believe, at a Texas university. I'm working on a degree there at the moment. Thank for the comment!
