  • This is the best video for the finger (obviously because it's done by native instruments and tim exile) every other video of people using this product online is just them taking samples and shitting all over them. AAAAHHH! so annoying. I was doubting getting the finger till I watched this. Shouldve started here I guess.

  • @JesseCaleTalkie Trust me, you'll end up doing the same thing as the countless others on youtube unless you're really knowing what you want out of it.

  • @Mixikyr so I've come to find out.

  • i am show you my finger ,,.!,

:) because this stuff is toooooooo fucking expensive ...

  • @Fistler01 then dont buy it! it is for pros who have the money!

  • @Funmichi yeah the pros who made mainstream music ... but ok its my problem not yours what i want to buy and not or you wanna tell me other think?

srsly music is my life and i know what i am talking about i buyed nexus for 400 not with all presets and this shit plugin didnt have a normal cutoff regulator and you talk about pros? you fail guy seriously

  • @Fistler01 I didn't say "for mainstream" Yes it is for pros or people who do it seriously. You dont know what you are talking about. perfect for you: ejay. very cheap and "pro quality"

  • @Funmichi omg go play tetris pls

  • @Fistler01 tetris is not music making... i played it a long time.

  • You can use your finger as in insert" Dont mind if i do

  • pause at 1:25 and look at the logo

  • 2:25 sounds like the intro to swedish house mafia - one

  • Looks like Native Instruments gave Kore owners the finger.

  • HEY I see you at 0:49! FUCK YOU TOO TIM EXILE! ..|..

  • 2:26 vocal dubstep

  • I wanna see Aphex Twin hire an awesome drummer and do a live colab show with this. Holy shit that would be awesome.

  • REEEEVEEEERB

  • jungle producers gna love this

  • I can't The Finger up and running in Ableton Live 8.....and it definitely LOOKS like it should be the simplest thing in the world to do....can anyone here walk me through it???

  • at :40 he really gives you the finger lol

  • here is the crazy shit

  • gotta love they way he atleast teaches you a bit of the "How to" to easily work the software.

  • I love Tim.

  • 0:52 - Look at Exile's face. Too funny!

  • 2:28 sing dubstep :D

  • niceeeeee but is it better than grossbeat?

  • DUBSTEP

  • tim i just want you to know your a god at this shit. and if i ever end up semi famous (which will never happen) i would love to dj with you some time.

  • Comment removed

  • @andrewmcgowanthe4th dude are you a dj and do you have any desire to become good enough to one day be semi famous? cause if that is something your striving for and your saying to yourself "it will never happen" well then your right it never will and that is an absolutely terrible mindset ....but if you if you just spin for fun then disregard what i just said....i was just kinda confused by your post.

  • Ooh, neat. How does this compare to Lucifer?

  • I justed jizzed. Musically speaking.

  • 0.43 3 hands?

  • @jaxel1992 HAHAHAHA no shit, total fail!

  • @jaxel1992 first one is a foot jk

  • @jaxel1992 you're too observant :D

  • @jaxel1992 yeah, hardly 'the finger' lol

  • 11 people like their toes

  • Nice to see the ZVEX " Woolly Mammoth" in the video...!!

  • fake.

  • @monsterjohn What it is exactly fake on this video? You must have an explanation or otherwise you are a huge idiot.

  • Used this for my first liveset. Love it so much. Instant "Fuck-shit-up" machine. It's so easy to program custom patches.

  • I don't like this music, but Tim is a master!!!! :D

  • NNNEEEEOOWWWCHECHHWWWWIKWIKWIKWIKOOOOOIIIIIIIIICHUGACHUGA

  • Nothing new...can't really say he is doing something original...SINCE THERE IS ALREADY FINGER EXISTS WHICH IS CALLED EFECTRIX...thank you...

he is just taking a credit for that...but hey another killer vst wouldn't hurt since we all like to granulate and glitch stuff up...thanks Exile...also check out the mouth...Exile is a blessing to the electronic music community...since he is a dsp + sound engineer with keen keen computer programming skills....

  • @demoncontra -

Dude, iv'e tried Efetrix, load of crap man.

I love what Sugar Bytes do with their other VSTs, but

    A. Efectrix does NOT sound as cool

    B. Isn't as innovative (like the combinations and effect routing in 'The Finger', which are phenomenally simple and awesome-sounding, allowing you to reach some impossible combinations by pressing a bunch of keys simulatenously

    C. Isn't HALF as beautifully and simply designed GUI. The design and simplicity is also very invigorating creatively.

  • @demoncontra effectrix doesnt compare to this. dblue glitch is better than effectrix imho...but the finger owns them all.

  • i see super sampling potential

  • Instajungle.

  • classic im tim excile and im gona show you the finger look at witch finger he shows and smiles

  • "You can also use the finger as an insert..." How rude!

  • wow- i've been making glitch from scratch in audacity... and this does it alll- DAMN... but audacity glitch is ALOT more fun! i might use this live though... -DJ Oxygen

  • amazing wobble bass at 2:28 for dubstep

This "Finger" reminds me of DubFX :)

  • this is so cool. its like heavyocity's mutations trigger fx but in a plug in form

  • Oh so it's like Sugar Bytes 'Artillery', except the FX re-route themselves in realtime! And you can combine them!

    WIN!

  • I thought he was going to eat the mic.

  • WHOA! He showed me the finger! What a twat!

  • can you sync this software to Traktor Pro for more FXs?

  • Isn't this what Sugar Bytes was trying to achieve

  • can anyone direct me on how to set it up with reaktor?

  • Motherbrain, yes you can. What you can't do is get the "per note" rearrangements which is where the real power of this resides. Sure, you could set up a dedicated change, but with the finger you can invert, reverse and reorder that change in seconds.

  • I wonder if one could make a device like this using audio racks in live

  • Dummy clips and audio racks is the answer.

  • what effect is that from 2:23-2:28? is that a granulator?

  • The keyboard looks like CME M-Key

  • ya I wanna know which keyboard in this vids.

It looks so neat and compact.

  • this is like dblue glitch times a million

  • What's the name of the keyboard?

  • yeah i want to know as well, looks nice and sleek

  • Bought the Finger last week and I must say that it really is amazing.

  • good job tim, too bad i missed ya in berlin last time.. hope to see ya soon, jimm

  • I run a dual 533mhz PPC mac and guess what, I bought it in what? 2001? Jesus christ, computers get frigging old. I wouldnt want to run Live on it, or edit video on it. Its slow as hell on the net, although it didnt use to be. I'll save it for some OS9 stuff I like, and its still useful, but cmon, I have a Intel Mac, too. Get a clue and get a new computer.

  • Hmmm Ok , this is cool but BEWARE this is not compatible with PPC MAC's !!!! I think this is unaceptable for a company such as NI to release a product that does not work for half it's MAC Users , Dont NI have MAC PPC's in there office , to at least test there prodcuts before releasing them ???

  • This is because of Reaktor core cell limitations, lots of other ensembles aren't compatible with PPC either :( NI should make a non-Reaktor version of The Finger...

  • It's based on the fact that Apple themselves are leaving the PPC platform behind for good. Snow Leopard is ditching PPC support and off the back of that, a lot of software developers are doing the same.

  • so does this mean if one gets Snow Leopard , this problem is resolved ?

  • The problem of it not working on a PPC Mac? Well considering the fact that Snow Leopard won't even run on a PPC Mac, I highly doubt that it would sort the problem xD

  • Man, the Reaktor forum goes CRAZY about this lol... so many threads about it :D

  • I purchased the finger and when i use it as a plug-in for effect processing in my DAW(Live) it doesn't recognize or receive and midi cc. I kore player and reaktor. It works and reads midi in stand alone but not in DAW's. So playing the keys are useless. Is anyone else having this same issue???

  • You are probably on a mac and use the AU-versions of the plugs?

Try it with the VsT versions.

this did the trick for me with sleens toolpack, might work were too, but not sure... try it

  • This looks like a complete rip off of the Access Virus TI Atomizer plugin and / or Sugar Bytes Artillery II. Looks like perhaps one or two different features, but all in all, it's been done before. I do, however, like the fact that pressing a second key actually links into a second effect, up to a chain of six. That's actually sweet.

  • ...which were themselves ripoffs from dBlue Glitch, which simply brought what Reaktor and Max/MSP users already could do for years in the shape of a convenient and free plugin ;).

The advantage of this one is that it works on OS X too and it's cheaper than most alternatives (except for Glitch) and it does more than, say, MDSP LiveCut. Other than that I agree with you that there's not much originality in there; especially if you consider that the glitch effect lost its novelty a while ago.

  • absolutely agree this will be good news for hardly any musicians, very unusable unless u like to make irritating robot sounds. fun to play around with but i think that is about it i would get bored after 25 minutes as would any normal human. And as for using it live that must be a fucking nightmare trying to memorize what every key does as well as dj'ing or playing live if you made a good sound on it and you didnt record the midi your fucked. out of a 66 key keyboard there 396 other combinations

  • yeah useless... indeed

  • What's the keyboard in this video?

    looks so neat.

  • Hmm, still sounds like the famous previous keymasher micro ensemble, but a lot more sophisticated on this one (especially the looks) :)

  • fl studio 9 has a similar effect plugin

  • uhm which one is that - i have FL 9 and have been using it since version 5...clue me in!

  • its called gros beat.. just use any instrument.. link it to the same mix track as where u use the plugin... play something in pianoroll and use ur keyboard for the crazy stuff. have fun

  • He is demoing a piece of software not giving a drumming exhibition. Get a life.

  • if you bother to watch the whole video, the drummer is the same guy playing the guitar. Not Tim. Watch fools.

  • you have no idea what's going on do you?

  • this is shit it's not musically beautiful

  • Isn't this a bit of a rip of Sugar Bytes Artillery, which is at least 3 years old!?!

  • nothing new.. but hey, it's native instruments :)

i think it nice for live usage because it works very stable!

  • wow they just stole Xfer Record's Lucifer...

not much of an original idea

  • Whoa! Sold.

  • you did it again genius

  • This is very cool and I'll probably end up buying it. With a little effort they probably could have found an actual drummer for the demo video though.

  • That's Tim Exile, and considering he wrote the software I don't think we should start by insulting his musicianship.

  • I'm not seeing the connection here. The fact that he wrote the software has nothing to do with his drumming skills.

  • cool!
