The Indian and Persian hypotheses are just hypotheses without proof. This story exists only in the Arabic version and there is no other versions. Because the name "Sindbad" sounds Persian, many have assumed that the story has a Persian origin, but there is no proof. I don't think it matters whether this was an Arab, Indian or whatever ... Anyway, it now has become a Japanese story too since our Japanese bro's have produced this nice version :)

i replied as ur comment implied the story was arabic-muslim, meaning its authorship & origin, I know it had been adapted to arabic many centuries ago so of course the main character would be made a muslim, was sindbad in the original indian version so too?

このアニメをリアルで見てた世代の日本人です それまでシンドバッドはアメリカの実写版の映画、 またアメリカのアニメでは見てはいましたが 話と描写があまりにエキゾチックすぎてうっかりすると 幼児にはちょっと恐怖感があったと思います 最近ディズニー版で過激に異国異文化情緒を排除した 子供でも親しめる描写のものが出て、ディズニーらしく ファンタジーで終わらせてありますね アニメと言うのは千夜一夜物語のように夢と希望、勇気を 与えるものでなくてはいけないものだと思います。 最近スケベアニメ、ポルノアニメを製作する狂った人がいますが 止めて欲しいです。
