sorry for the late response, i replied back on my phone but i guess it never went through. if you are using the main hard drive vista puts locked files towards the end of the partition making it hard to split the drives. If you had a separate hard drive you could split them easier. There are other software's you could use such as partition magic.
Partitioning in windows xp is not recommended when using your active drive. If you still want to do it, you would need to download partition magic. It will help split your drives.
If one of your partitions are empty, you can delete that partition. to do so press start, right click on my computer, press manage. click Disk Management. find your partition that you don't want and right click on it. Press Delete volume. Next find your active hard drive *the one with windows installed on it* and press extend volume. Now you can expand the volume to the size you want.
What i am seeing is that you are at your last available space. You would need to defrag your hard drive so that all of the files that are scattered around your hard drive are closer together. Because Vista is Vista, it also locks certain files which makes it difficult to move in the defrag process. You would need to use third party software to accomplish this Or reformat your PC with backed up files and make the new sizes.

Some people organize their hard partitions. They would make a partition for software, games or music.

Be careful when installing Linux operating systems as they have a tendency to stay. It is difficult getting rid of Linux if you don't know how.
