Hello. It sound like they are speeking english. I herd. " We got a lot here put it down at a 10 61" I looked up pocie radio band code and some otheres. The code 10 61 is 10-61 Miscellaneous public service. that is funnie. Maby they are hummand or hummandnods that use a form of english becuse they they are like us or we came from them or we are in contact with them. Or it could have been a CB radio or police radio that bounsed in to space that day and mixed with the natrule signols out there.
To you uninformed people out there: You can't listen to the WOW! signal, as no audio was recorded. There's just a code and there is no way to convert it to an audible sound. And the sound in his video is just some sort of human speech slowed down.
The device known as the big ear was not capeable of storing the type of data offered by this liar. It recorded only average signal intensity, The intesity was averaged over a period of 10 seconds and a single datapoint was generated for that signal segment, and represented by a single letter or number on a chart recorder. Can't make audio from 6 letters printed on paper!
Researching the Wow Signal, I of course went to the source for information, the official website written by the radio astronomer who first gave the Wow Signal its name. On the faq page of the Big Ear Observatory it says, and I quote, "...there was no audio recording equipment attached to the output of that radio telescope." Therefore this sound can not be the actual Wow Signal. I'm sorry to say it must be a fake. That is not an opinion but a simple fact.
littlecarey they didn't send the word wow as the signal. the scientist who received and reviewed the signal which consisted of six letters and six numbers wrote the word "wow" in the margin of the print out information from the radiotelescope
id think this whole signal is just some weird frequency that no one can explain i doubt aliens would JUST send "wow" as a greeting. YES i do believe aliens exist but these ufo nuts take it to far these days. if aliens have visited earth, why would they make them selves seen??? except Phonix lights....that was just fucked up....
@littlecarrey Listen the signal could be anything. Slowing it down and hearing like a man saying something is the first time ive ever heard that, but the wow wasn't what they picked up, the guy who saw the numbers and shit wrote the word wow down near the frequencies, simply because those numbers indicated a sound that was louder then the recesses of space. Now if all you ever heard was silence in space, then u got a hit like that, wouldn't you say wow? lol.
Aaain Thanx man I'll reverse it me sen ..when you say you stretched it out !did you mean elongate it in audio sequencer or did you mean you lowered the recording frequency not resampled but detuned . i know you mentioned you used audio recorde in windows but i ddnt know if you meant you had streacthed it out in some other audio gear ie sound forge or Wave lab..get back Please am interested as I am Sound/Audio engineeer producer..and any additional help or info is most welcome..Moondog!!
I just done this myself last night. I was messing around and recorded the file of the radio signal on the simple sound recorder that came with the computer. I was going to record it so i could put it in reverse out of curiosity knowing that if i had done it then no one else could have messed with it. Didn't sound like anything. I got to thinking about the red shift and how if it had came from some where distant than it would have been stretched out. So i sped it up and got something close
I heard : " 2pm 1061 is that what you want ? ", Cosmic radiowave frequencies from outerspace, 91mhz, ( from the same direction the wow signal center of our Galaxy , 160mhz ( r near the old N Weather Channel at 162.5 mhz ) that I think is artificial and 78 UHF TV , these are a few of the cosmic radio signals we receive f with regular radio equipment in our homes. most are explained except 91mhz , to polarize them key a CB radio mic over the speaker of one of these radio signals
@Moondogzzz both the CB radio and the radio with the cosmic frequency like 160mhz VHF radio or 91 mhz fm radio they both need to be turned on , move the CB mic about 2 inches from the speaker , and you'll somehow pull the signal in after polarization , they sound like something from Star Trek , also turn on your old analog TV at channel 78 UHF and you'll see the CB radio and cosmic radio signals pulse odd on the screen - remember a lot of the static snow on the old TVs are cosmic radio static
where is you brain missing?bullshit and a poor fake!!the wow signal was a electromagnetic wave near the noncomercial 1420 MHz and the "big ear" array detect in 1977 only the signal strength all 11 seconds!!so the "wow" print is shown 6EQUJ5! figures shown there the signal strength above the background noise of space!letters shown the strength above 9 so the letter U was the highest signal strength in case that it was 30times higher than background noise of space!

@Moondogzzz
1. Run it thru a SSTV converter. Lets see what it shows.
2. Run it thru a time(x)/freq(y)/volume(brightness of pixel) graph and see what it shows.
Lets see what graphics come out of this signal!
