I love bf3 btw its awesome. Surprised myself by changing considering I played call of duty games from the exact day I bought my ps3 to the exact day I bought bf3. My bad for rambling my mouth.
Honestly I only played mw3 once at a friends house and only for about 5 minutes then stopped, then played bf3 for 10 or so and bought that from him. I probrobly would have bought mw3 if bf3 didn't come out at around the same time. The beta sucked me in and drove me to make a change, mw3 has nothing new in my opinion.
I think you need to look at the bigger picture. I think its a great game but this is coming from a guy who was the first on the block to buy Mrs. Pacman for Atari 2600. Go play that and tell me this game ain't great

MW3 is in my eyes worst than Black Ops. Not a success for old school cod players but the new cod players it is a success because the game was build with them in mind. Just think about for a sec and you will understand what im saying.
I think it was a success. It was sales wise, and also game-play wise. They did a good job with the campaign and spec ops, much better than previous games (besides zombies, that was treyarchs). But in my mind the multiplayer was awesome. The guns were balanced and I love the maps. Just get rid of the bad spawns and final stand/deadmans hand was a retarded idea. I really don't know why they did that

Mw3 is the best in the series. However there are a lot of n00bs who simply cant handle some guns being powerful and the close spawns which makes for the pace and the tempo of the game. It would be preferable if they stepped back to the more accessible Black Ops.

Mw3 is not a success, but to say it failed on all aspects would be wrong. I think the stopping power addon to guns is just a terrible idea.. Don't get me started on the maps/spawns. But they did good to stop the noob tube (or limit). But I would say it has to be one of the worst in the series lately.. Mw2 and MW3 has spoiled the legacy of cod4. I think there taking steps back. Honestly, this game does not feel like a CoD game. It's way too unbalanced. I know CoD has never been "balanced", but this game is a little over the top.
This game does not promote making good decisions, having good aim, maneuvering the map correctly, using the right weapons, sniping or anything. The maps, prestige tokens, weapons, perks (mainly assassin), gametypes were all designed to give noobs an advantage. I'm a Halo player now. I love it. The competition is so much better
as faras sales go then yes this game is the best CoD to date but anyone that played a CoD before mw2 should see how flawed and broken this game. they could of made it great by just taking out danger close and one man army which they did but ruined it with assasin dead mans hand and akimbo machine pistols
In terms of money yes but in terms of enjoyment it's my least favourite cod so far that's why I've been playing cod 4, bad company 2, battlefield 3 and black ops recently
The thing is with CoD, it is a game you just have to buy, activision has done a good job of continually marketing their games in such a way to make us think that the new call of duty is going to be good, but just with black ops and modern warfare 3 they screw us over, the only way to make change is to stop buying or just stop playing thier game for a couple days, but the chance of either happening are close to 0
its a great game on many levels like all cods it has its flaws. if us the consumers keep buying these games at record sales IW is going to have no reason to put any effort into what they are doing. Thats what us consumers need to realize!

My girlfriend asked me if i wanted Skyrim or MW3 this past christmas. Just seeing how much people are still hating on COD games makes me glad I got Skyrim. Black Ops and CoD4 are the only games that have been truly successful, especially Black Ops. In BOps, there were no major glitches that hurt the game (ie Damage proficiency glitch) and the game was alot more fun than MW3.

[part 2] i spent 101 days 5hours 49mins in game time on that game, i am 15th as a medic in the world. or was when i left the game full time in august 2010. In cod, for me blops was the best as again i spent over 10 days on that game, i made a clan etc and played competitive for it. MW3 is a definte step up from mw2, for me they have cut the bullshit. Its just that glitches and other of that jargon is common place. Then again, that is just fact nowadays.

mate it made much more finance than they have ever has. A success in publishers, devs and managers eyes is the profit margins. Not to the basic worker or player but too them it is. Now success for me, is a different number of factors (longevity, hours, players, cost). (1) how long to do play it for over a certian time? (2) when you do play it how many hours for? (3) no of players (4) the amount it costs to play, make and market the game. Now, the best game for me, is resistance 2, ...
10 million copies sold? I'd say its successful. I personally have no complaints. And I think a small percentage of people complain about stuff like strikers, fmg 9s, type 95, over powered weapons in general. I have fun with it. I don't get all the complaining personally. I'd probably enjoy the game more if I never had any knowledge of buffing and nerfing like when i played mw2.
Haha I was listening to Lefty and when he asked if MW3 is successful I started wondering what success really was, then he said that people who did that didn't disappoint him. Now I am a boss. But as far as whether MW3 is a success, financially it is, but the game itself is most certainly not, even though I continue to play it.
saleswise, yes, it is a succes, it IS a call of duty game, fast pace, a lot of guns, perks, and attachment, some are OP. Infinity Ward and the other developers made the maps extra fast paced, you don't have to search for the action. But that is the thing that i dont like about COD games; it's so fast paced, there is almost no thinking, just shoot the guy in front of you. that's why I stopped playing COD after BO and why I skipped MW2. Now i'm playing bf3. slower pace, bigger maps, more strategy.
In terms of successful being generating lots of revenue, then yes. MW3 is an extremely successful game, thanks to the younger generations picking it up as it being their first COD. However if you define successful by the overall public enjoying the game and continuing to play it, then no, MW3 was a failure. Robert Bowling promised things which were never achieved, and the proficiency glitch was treated carelessly and so on.. Black Ops was, in terms of the public liking it, more of a success.
im not gonna lie the idea was good but due to the glitches and weapon issues with some of the guns, we got little kids camping and noobtubing just to get an epic kd, the game isnt about kd rather than fun. the shotguns are pretty bad however the models are powerful they need to add on akimbo

This game does not promote making good decisions, having good aim, maneuvering the map correctly, using the right weapons, sniping or anything. The maps, prestige tokens, weapons, perks (mainly assassin), gametypes were all designed to give noobs an advantage. I'm a Halo player now. I love it. The competition is so much better

they bring out week as piss snipers you get so many bullshit hitmarkers you cant kill anyone with one shot when they have a health boost almost the only thing that is succsessfull in mw3 is the game mode dropzone because if you sniping you need (NEEEEEEED) quickdraw or you take to long to shoot and recock and shit and since theres not near as many uavs or anything like that you dont seem to be killed asmuch. and the guns are just fucking stupid im thinking

I agree with you Lefty, this game was a success money wise. However this game had alot bullshit that just shouldn't be in there. I think that this bullshit is just a contributer to all the money that they are making. There more bullshit they are adding the more money they are making. A successful game wouldn't have the majority of gamers hating on it for all this bullshit. The problem is that Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games dont give a shit. Black Ops and CoD4 are the only games that have been truly successful, especially Black Ops. In BOps, there were no major glitches that hurt the game (ie Damage proficiency glitch) and the game was alot more fun than MW3.

I think it is a success in the way that they've put a lot of new things in the game, in a refreshing way but with the connection and all that bullshit it kinda is not. It is sometimes a success, for me personally because I can have a great time playing this game but sometimes the connection is so bad(no not because my internet sucks) but because they did things wrong.

I think it is a successful game. Even though there is a select number of folks that bought it and hate it... There is an even greater number of folks out there that actually love it. I personally enjoy it very much what with it's annoying bugs and insanely OP shotguns and MP's... Oh and the pesky LAG issues. Success... indeed. [part 2] i spent 101 days 5hours 49mins in game time on that game, i am 15th as a medic in the world. or was when i left the game full time in august 2010. In cod, for me blops was the best as again i spent over 10 days on that game, i made a clan etc and played competitive for it. MW3 is a definte step up from mw2, for me they have cut the bullshit. Its just that glitches and other of that jargon is common place. Then again, that is just fact nowadays.

Now success for me, is a different number of factors (longevity, hours, players, cost). (1) how long to do play it for over a certian time? (2) when you do play it how many hours for? And I think a small percentage of people complain about stuff like strikers, fmg 9s, type 95, over powered weapons in general. I have fun with it. I don't get all the complaining personally. saleswise, yes, it is a succes, it IS a call of duty game, fast pace, a lot of guns, perks, and attachment, some are OP. Infinity Ward and the other developers made the maps extra fast paced, you don't have to search for the action. But that is the thing that i dont like about COD games; it's so fast paced, there is almost no thinking, just shoot the guy in front of you. that's why I stopped playing COD after BO and why I skipped MW2. Now i'm playing bf3. slower pace, bigger maps, more strategy.

In terms of successful being generating lots of revenue, then yes. MW3 is an extremely successful game, thanks to the younger generations picking it up as it being their first COD. However if you define successful by the overall public enjoying the game and continuing to play it, then no, MW3 was a failure. Robert Bowling promised things which were never achieved, and the proficiency glitch was treated carelessly and so on.. Black Ops was, in terms of the public liking it, more of a success.

@axekiller76 no. black ops also had op guns and unfair things (ghost) in it. dont get me wrong i also think black ops was blanced quite good, but blancing also means to make different guns to me. if you check the guns in mw3 none of them are the same and have similar stats. in black ops there were a lot of similar guns (famas-aug, ak47-commando). every cod will have annoying bullshit in it, people should learn how to deal with it instead of complaining like assholes.
