I'm a Sharks fan but listening to broadcasting in French is awesome! I don't understand the language, but I bet if Randy and Drew (the Sharks announcers) were speaking in french during their broadcasts, I'd be able to make out exactly what they were saying just by the recognition of their voices.

I only started being a habs fan and following hockey in general in the early 00s but this is the best game I have yet to see. The only thing that remotely compares is the playoff run last year. I am envious of the people who witnessed the magic of this team's glory years and hope they can get back there real soon. Best team , Best fans bar none

@emmykn : The problem is that since RDS has been broadcasting all Canadiens' game for the last 5-6 years, some people have got tired of Pierre Houde (the play-by-play announcer) and others probably frustrated not to hear others voices. Because Canadiens' games were presented by 3 different tv stations for about 15 years. I still like Houde, but I'm among those who can't stand his commentator of the past 3 seasons, Benoit Brunet a former good Habs player who is not qualified for 100 games a year.

@Railfan2103 Yeah, I'm and English Habs fan but I watch all the Hab games on RDS (the French language network, with this announcing team), or else on ESPN/Versus in the U.S., whose team is quite good. CBC (especially. I mean, Bob Cole ?!?!? gimme a break) and TSN are really, really poor.

@innismor11 I agree with you except for the Bob Cole part. He is awesome...a great example of an "old school" announcer (which is a good thing). There's a reason he called more than 20 straight Stanley Cup Finals.

@Railfan2103 he was GREAT for a good period of time. I remember 1993! He clearly has eyesight problems now, and I sense his memory is not as good as it used to be (mine neither, by the way). But when you're getting Pacioretty and Pouillot consistently backwards, well the players and the viewers deserve better. When you get voted into (any) Hall of Fame, one is supposed to consider whether they are encouraging you to retire.

I'm French Canadian and i prefer listening Bob Cole than RDS French Broascasting,i like he's voice and he's enthusiasm but i am worry that he was not choose for a lot of past series stanley cup games :( but i have to say that Martin Mcguire from choi 95,5 radio is the best french describer of kockey games in the world...He is incredible he should be on tv! He is soooo spectacular :)

Pierre Houde is a great commentator!!! at least he calls a game with a lot of emotion just like Jeanerret in Buffalo. I can't say the same for several other cities in the US that don't know nothing about hockey... Seriously! Nashville, Phoenix, Columbus, Anaheim, Tampa, Atlanta... BOOOORING!

Oh don't get me wrong, Jeanerret is probably THE best commentator in my opinion in the NHL. But as far as french commentators, Houde is the best.

@baho007 Pierre Houde's a highly competent man but he's got annoying tendencies. He'll go into long minutes of play wishing relatives a happy birthday and has frequently missed goals for that reason. He stubbornly clings to pronouncing players names in their homeland's language. Hearing Plekanetz is fine by me but "Vo-kawn" for Vokoun is ridiculous. Last but not least, he complains about ref's way too much. I still like him though!
