lol how can people hate this version, it is pure gold. I really appreciate the original but Ive always thought the vocals(not good enough for my taste) in Joy Division are subpar to the music(very very good), and yes Brandon Flowers does a way better vocal work here, and they didnt do an exact copy of the original, they changed it which, in all honestly, is a harder thing to do. If you prefer the original then listen to the original, its right here on youtube too you now?

On its own, this song isn't really all that bad. However, when you consider that its a cover, it's really not all that great. The only good things about it are the guitar in the background, the lyrics, and the melody; all these things came from the original song.

This is a very good and respectful cover of an outstanding song. You have to try adding your own touch to something if you're going to bother covering it. This added their touch without being an insult to the original.

(It's rare to find the remake that outshines the original, such as Johnny Cash's version of Hurt.)

Appreciate both versions for what they are. Obviously the original is the original and deserves that respect, but enjoy an alternate version as well. Or don't and just go away.
