i'll admit that this video isn't an instant winner like Original of the Species, but after watching it for a good 25 times because of the song it starts to grow on you.

I'm not going to lie though, the concept of it is amazing. I mean, covering an entire coastal city with white sheets!

Personally I think they could have nixed the random dancers and maybe added more scenes of giant sheets blowing off of buildings, and more dramatic shadow scenes.

Interesting. I think what keeps there message so powerful is that no matter what there religion the message is spiritual, no matter what there politics the message is human. Don't try to put your beliefs into a message that is unmistakably universal.

What's amazing about U2... what makes them a better band than even the Beatles or any other legendary band... is more than just the music and melody and amazing orchestration... it's the MESSAGE in Bono's poetry!!

While U2 produces great music, the Beatles produced even greater music which appealed to a much larger crowd.

As for there not being a message in the lyrics, I don't think you listened to much of the music written by John Lennon.

But I do think Bono himself would object for anyone other than God Himself to claim U2's music and poetry as exclusively belonging to one faith or another. Revisit the lyrics of "Acrobat." Also, run a search and check out Bono's interview with Pastor Bill Hybels of Willow Creek Community Church.

yeah it's the "you don't know how beautiful .." bit that they they took from 'fast cars' on the previous album that lets it down. And even then it was just your standard "middle eastern style" riff, not very interesting.

A shame because the guitar riff on the main part of the song is brilliant.

To make a really good middle eastern, Edge should have done the following...index finger on the A, pinkie finger on the G two frets down. You create an octave effect that sounds really cool.
