You are right, actually this set of "genes" appeared in the first generation, so they are actually random values, but they were the best through all the evolution process
Looks interesting - any background information of paper available? I guess the crucial part is how much work the GA actually had to do to achieve the results shown (i.e. size of searchspace, degrees of freedom,..)
