We name children after grandparents so thus names are kept every second generation. So I can say I am a Thracian.

Also the -dava from the Dacian city is a Sanskrit word for god like in Sucidava = the city of the Suci god. Not 'bulgarian' descent - 'bulgar' - there is a difference. The origin of the 'bulgars' is not entirely clear(tatar being one of the possibilities), that is why I said we are 'considered'. In addition to tracians, slavs and bulgars during the ages our genome has certainly absorbed traits from many other peoples: vlachs, roma, turks, pechenegs, cumans, greeks, etc. About FYROM - that is the official name of your country used in international treaties and documents .

Macedonia and Thrace are different Bulgarian regions.
Thrace is the region south of the Balkan mountain, from Ihtiman, near Sofia, to the Black Sea.
Macedonia lies to the west of it.
I am a Thracian.

It just pointed out that names change their meaning.
Thracians were an ancient group of tribes which merged with Slavs and Bulgars into Bulgarians.
There were several Thracian tribes. Odrisians, Moesians, Moedi etc. I am an Odrisian. The Thracian name of my town is Uscudama. My name is not Slavic, Christian or Bulgar. It is Thracian. We name children after grandparents so thus names are kept every second generation. So I can say I am a Thracian.

I said I have the name of my grandfather, he has the name of his grandfather.- every second generation has the same name. so the name has been kept for thousands of years.
we also use some words which are similar to words from the Thracian inscriptions, but have no connection to Slavic language.
We still keep some of the mysteries of Orpheus, Dionisios and Zalmoksis - the Thracian gods.

Our neighbours from Macedonia, Romania, and sometimes Greece get ridiculous too offten! When there's something bad about/from Bulgaria - "oh, yes, that's typically bulgarian" but when there's something good they hurry to say it originates from their country and nation. Be proud with your own stuff and dont try to steal nice things from the others! THIS IS A BULGARIAN DANCE!

Tsaribrod??? Both my grandmothers come form that town. It's always been Bulgarian till 1919. And there are many other Bulgarian towns and villages in Serbia that are really Bulgarian, because that is their major population even today. This is called Zapadni Pokrainini / Western Pokrainini:D . There are many completely Bulgarian villages in Greece and Romania as well because my country lost some wars in the beginning of the 20th c. :/

It's not because of the race, it's because of what they do - stealing and living on our backs without paying any bills, coz it's easier not to work. So yes - gypsy is an insult. But we really have nothing against hungarians or any other foreigners.

They steal on an everyday basic/my mom was robbed several month ago in the bus by a rabble of gypsy women and their young kids who are taught to do the same since early age/,most of them are very dirty,some walk without shoes coz they don't care about their kids hygiene as they're lazy to go to work,they smell very bad AND are complaining how WE don't take care of them!

OK, most gypsies are like that. Seeing as I'm American, I can't say that I've met a gypsy before. I can accept that. However, what I can't accept is the insistance that ALL gypsies are smelly, lazy robbers. What I'm trying to say is that there have to be people that are gypsies and are perfectly functional members of society. "The actions of the masses never dictate the actions of all."

Also, reading the year's worth of commentary by two people, I realized that it was all so ridiculous. Who really cares if everyone in the Balkans are descendants of the Thracians? I mean, come on, what were the Thracians before they became grouped up? They would probably have had the same arguement then too? Now how dumb is that? The important thing is what you are NOW. Everybody's Heinz 57 (or a mix of everything) thanks to modern transportation.
